PUBG Esports 2025 Roadmap: Road to PGC, TPP Tournament, & More

With the conclusion of the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2024, Krafton has unveiled the 2025 esports roadmap, featuring the return of the Road to PGC, the Esports World Cup (EWC), a TPP tournament, and more. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

PUBG Esports 2025 Roadmap: Road to PGC Unveiled

The 2025 PUBG Esports global tournament calendar will begin in March with the regional series. The structure for the Road to PGC is set to remain the same, with regional series providing a path into the PGS – four editions of which will take place in 2025.

In addition to these four international tournaments, fans will see three more multi-region events: the PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) 2025, the Esports World Cup, and, of course, the year-end PGC to crown the year’s champions.

PUBG has now joined the growing list of games confirmed for the 2025 edition of the Esports World Cup. This includes Rainbow Six Siege, Crossfire, PUBG Mobile, MLBB, and more. It’s set to take place in Riyadh during the summer.

In the PGC 2024, it was Vietnam’s The Expendables who rose from the ashes to become the ultimate champions. The team didn’t have a good season, with low-placed rankings throughout the year. However, they made it count where it mattered the most – in the PGC 2024 Grand Finals. With this victory, they pocketed $500,000 of the $1.5 million prize pool.

PUBG Players Tour brings TPP Tournaments

Contrary to its mobile counterpart, the PUBG PC esports ecosystem is played in the first-person perspective. However, there is a huge player base that prefers TPP. For them, the PUBG Esports 2025 roadmap brings the Players Tour with a three-tier format.

At the bottom is the PUBG Players Scrim, where players from across four regions, as listed below, can join and compete for progression to the next stages:

  • Americas
  • Asia-Pacific
  • Asia
  • Europe, Middle East & Africa

From these scrims, the top teams will advance to the PUBG Players Cup, which Krafton has called a weekly final for the event. The publisher has also stated that it is working on making the Players Cup a proper esports tournament with streaming and a prize pool.

Finally, the top teams from the Players Cup will make it to the PUBG Players Masters. Details about this stage are still scarce, though.
