Now, a slight wording change in the item’s description has offered a little bit of hope, with those points appearing to last indefinitely.
Your Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Pack Points Will Last Forever
Previously, the item description for Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s pack points said: “If the availability for a given booster pack ends, its pack points will no longer be available for exchange.” This was quickly noticed by the game’s community, causing widespread fear.
The developers of TCG Pocket evidently noticed the concern of its game’s players as it has now replaced that line of text.
As noticed on Reddit by user the_rotten1, the pack point description now reads: “Opening booster packs of a given expansion earns you pack points for that expansion only.”

This change has led to discussion as to whether the pack points were ever actually set to expire or if the wording was there in case Pokemon TCG Pocket’s developers ever implemented a time-limited expansion in which the pack points would eventually become useless. Whatever it is, though, it seems like Genetic Apex and every other expansion will remain in the storefront for eternity.
The change has been met with a positive reception online, with Reddit user ironfist92 saying, “I understand expansions for the real-life trading cards going out of rotation, but I find it dumb if digital packs on an app are limited.”
The problem now is less that the expansions may disappear from the store, and more that trying to collect every single card is going to be a collector’s nightmare, especially with the next expansion due for release in under a month.
