Marvel Rivals’ Leak Floodgates Are About to Burst

Marvel Rivals’ Leak Floodgates Are About to Burst

Within just two weeks, Marvel Rivals had amassed a total of 20 million active players. It seems as though Marvel Rivals is succeeding where other hero shooters have not, and that can likely be attributed to a few key factors.

One major factor behind Marvel Rivals‘ initial success is its brand recognition. The MCU has thrust the Marvel universe into the mainstream consciousness, and now even once-obscure heroes like Hawkeye and Ant-Man are household names. But aside from that pre-established popularity, Marvel Rivals has gone out of its way to prove to fans that it has staying power, with it promising that new heroes, modes, and maps are on the way. Many of these heroes have already been leaked, however, and it’s only a matter of time before developer NetEase confirms or denies their existence.

Marvel Rivals Will Need to Confirm or Deny Some Leaks Sooner or Later

There Have Been a Ton of Leaks Surrounding Marvel Rivals’ Roster

In the last few months, Marvel Rivals leaks have been practically non-stop. Weeks before the hero shooter was even released, leakers took to Twitter several times to detail what would end up becoming the launch day roster. And since launch, the leaks have only grown more frequent.

There are well over 10 heroes and villains currently rumored to appear in Marvel Rivals. While many of these rumored characters have only been referenced in the game’s files, a few have had their entire ability sets leaked.

Ultron, for instance, has essentially been revealed in his entirety, albeit not officially. Leakers have shared official in-game artwork of Marvel Rivals‘ Ultron, along with all of his in-game abilities. According to the leaks, Ultron will join the Strategist’s ranks, with his moveset revolving around sending out drones to heal and protect allies.

Mr. Fantastic (of Fantastic Four fame) has also had his in-game artwork and abilities leaked. According to the leaks, Mr. Fantastic will be a Duelist, able to use his elastic powers to absorb damage and launch it back at foes. The Human Torch – apparently a fellow duelist – has also had his abilities leaked, with his moveset centering around shockwaves and projectiles made of fire.

Though the other half of The Fantastic Four are allegedly set to join Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch, they haven’t had their abilities leaked yet, though Sue Storm will allegedly be a Strategist and The Thing will be a Vanguard. Blade, Captain Marvel, and Jean Grey were also included in these initial leaks.

Marvel Rivals‘ leaks are so frequent, in fact, that two more have just appeared online during the course of writing this piece. Coming from X0XLEAK on Twitter, one batch of Marvel Rivals leaks claim M.O.D.O.K., Deadpool, Hit-Monkey, Angela, and Emma Frost will be coming to the game. The other claims Valkyrie and The Hood will also be joining them in the future.

It’s About Time Marvel Rivals Confirmed Its Next Set of Heroes

While developer NetEase has confirmed that new heroes will be coming free-of-charge in the future, it hasn’t confirmed how frequently fans can expect to get new heroes, i.e. one every season. If Marvel Rivals is looking to add new heroes with each season, then it’ll need to announce the next batch soon, as Season 1 is set to begin in January.

Given the frequency of leaks surrounding Ultron, it seems likely he’ll be the next character to come to Marvel Rivals, though NetEase could throw fans a curveball given that all leaked information should always be taken with a pinch of salt.
