One of the most well-known romance anime of all time, From Me To You follows the story of Sawako Kuronuma and how she goes from being an ostracized classmate to the girlfriend of the most popular boy in her class, Shota Kazehaya. She begins the series as someone completely alone and bullied for her appearance, yet is soon befriended by Kazehaya, and later by classmates Ayane and Chizu, who begin to turn her life around.

Notably, as a character named Kurumi tells Sawako, Kazehaya was the only one from the start who never looked down on or pitied her, something even Ayane and Chizu had initially done. Because of Kazehaya’s kindness and support for Sawako, she was able to break out of her shell and make friends, and thus, undergo drastic positive character development.

Despite his initial cold and hostile personality, Lord Kiyoka Kudo is actually one of the kindest anime characters. Kudo is very upset to learn of Miyo’s dreadful past, and as such, his heart warms to her. As Miyo gradually begins to understand him, and vice versa, they realize they truly love each other and want to be together no matter what.

Though he knows it will not heal her inner pain, Kudo deliberately goes out of his way to buy Miyo many expensive new clothes and is willing to give her anything if it would benefit her and make her feel better. Upon her kidnapping, Kudo rushes to save her from her stepmother and sister and waits by her side until she wakes again. Kudo grows fiercely protective of Miyo due to his love for her, evident in his many acts of kindness in My Happy Marriage.

Uraraka saves him from falling again, this time from a perilous height. Afterward, she even approaches the teachers, asking them to give Izuku the points she’d earned since he’d gone out of his way to protect her in the exam, no matter the cost to himself. Uraraka desperately wanted Izuku to be recognized for his bravery and selflessness. From that day on, they quickly became good friends, and she was always kind to him and there for him when he needed it. From her genuine friendliness at the beginning, to her incredibly moving speech defending him in Season Six, Uraraka’s kindness, to both Deku and others, is evident throughout the series.
