In CS2, ADR is one of the most important ways to measure a player’s performance. It might even be more important than K/D ratio, as it gives a better look at a player’s match as a whole. But what exactly is ADR in CS2? Let’s take a look.
What is CS2 ADR?
In CS2, ADR stands for “Average Damage per Round.” It’s an indication of how much damage you’re doing to your opponents over the course of a match, even if you’re not actually killing them. You can have a super high ADR and still be underperforming in the kills department. If you’ve got teammates who can mop up the damage, then this is no big deal.
Ultimately, tracking CS2 ADR is extremely important in measuring your own performance. You might feel like you’re not getting many kills, but if the ADR is high, then you know you’re on the right track. It’s also worth remembering that ADR in CS2 is an average, so can be influenced by the position you’re playing. For example, if you’re sitting on Ramp on Nuke as a CT, but they don’t come your way, you might have a low ADR despite playing well when action does find you. It’s not the be-all and end-all of CS2 stats.
How to check CS2 ADR
You can track your ADR in CS2 directly from the leaderboard. Hold Tab to open it, then in the top-right corner, you should see a small chart icon that reads “Cycle stats” when you hover over it. Click it, and this will reveal a new set of stats from the match including UD (Utility Damage), EF (Enemies Flashed), and of course, ADR. This is how you keep on top of the amount of damage you’re dealing to enemies in your CS2 matches.
