Spoilers ahead for Dandadan
6
Jiji
He Becomes A Powerful Ally
- Manga Debut: Chapter 1 (As a child).
- Anime Debut: Episode 1 (Momo’s childhood flashback) then Episode 10.
During the later part of Dandadan Season 1, we saw the introduction of Jiji (Jin Enjoji), the former childhood sweetheart of Momo and a potential love rival for Okarun. What we didn’t see is Jiji’s ability as a spiritual medium and part of Momo and Okarun’s improvised occult defenders group.
In Season 2 we will see his true potential, as he becomes one with the spirit that has been harassing him, and learns to control his newfound abilities. Jiji will soon become one of the most reliable (and powerful) fighters on the team.

Kinta Sakata
The New Brains Of The Team
A new team member who has been a secondary character appearing sporadically and in the background becomes a part of the team in Season 2. Kinta Sakata, also called ‘Pervert Otaku’ by Momo, is a talented and smart student who will surely re-appear in Season 2 when he suddenly figures out that Okarun and Momo have abilities.

2024 saw the debut of several excellent romance manga, and for fans of the genre and newcomers alike, these are the best of the bunch.
Instead of panicking and fleeing, he just goes with the flow and helps them fend off an alien invasion. Though he is a little bit quirky in his mannerisms, and he is painfully desperate for attention, he is one of the good guys. Later, he becomes the team’s lead tactician, demonstrating that he is both capable and loyal.
4
Vamola
One Of The Good Aliens
Vamola (or Bamora) is first seen looking for Okarun’s Golden Ball during a mysterious encounter after the Haunted House In The Mountains arc. She is going to join the team during Season 2 and add a lot of positive attitude to the group. She is innocent, though really straightforward, and she’s brave in the face of the unknown.
After she joins the group and is invited to live at Ayase’s house (as an extra freeloader), she needs to learn the ropes of being a “normal schoolgirl,” so she will join Momo, Okarun, Jiji, and Kinta as a “transfer student.” Though she doesn’t have any particular abilities, she has a powerful battle suit tailored to be used by her and her alone.
3
Mr. Mantis Shrimp
The Best Redemption Story In The Manga
- Manga Debut: Chapter 20
- Anime Debut: Episode 8
The former Henchman of The Serpo, Mr. Mantis Shrimp is going to become a regular character during Season 2 of Dandadan, as he will be helping Okarun and his allies in various encounters with dangerous aliens and Yokai. It’s fair to say that he becomes a sort of intel provider on all things alien-related, a driver, and also an important supporting character during many side events.
The good news is that viewers will learn more about him and his personal quest, a hidden truth that is both endearing and heartbreaking, as the season progresses. It turns out, he is part of a mercenary race inhabiting a barren planet, and the only thing they can do to earn much-needed resources is to work as hired guns (or fists, in his case). He also has a sick child named Chikitita (“Little One” in English). Needless to say, he is poised to become one of the best characters in the series.
2
Count Saint-Germain
A Mysterious New Character Who Is Coming Up Soon
A powerful occultist who will probably be introduced in Season 2 of Dandadan, since the arc where he finally appears is right after the Cursed House Case (Jiji’s arc). As such, it is very possible that Count Saint-Germain will be spotlighted mid-season, although he won’t be doing much until later on in the series.

This character is a mystery to everyone (followers of the Dandadan manga included), and his motives are clouded in a thick shroud made with a mixture of contradictory actions and his unexpectedly quirky attitude. Viewers will have to wait and see him in action to know anything more about this strange fellow.
1
Seiko Ayase
She Has Not Shown Her Real Powers Yet
- Manga Debut: Chapter 1 (flashback), then Chapter 3
- Anime Debut: Episode 1 (flashback), then Episode 3
Undoubtedly one of the most powerful beings in Dandadan, though her laziness is her undoing, Seiko is a skillful exorcist and one heck of a fighter as well. During Season 1 viewers barely managed to get a glimpse of her powers, and what was shown is not even 10% of what she can really do. Since Turbo Granny and many other Yokai fear her, we can instinctively guess that she is way more powerful than what she lets on.
Dandadan Season 2 is a great opportunity for this character to truly shine, showcasing the full extent of her abilities, though she often says that her powers only work in a certain region due to a mysterious pact with the local deity. Fans will have to wait for Season 2 to witness the reveal of her full potential.
