This is How Much It Would Cost to Buy Everything in the Marvel Rivals Store

Summary

  • Buying everything in Marvel Rivals 101,450 Units
  • Fans find the price reasonable due to the free-to-play model
  • Future expansions may cause the cost to rise into four figures

A Marvel Rivals player has calculated how much money it will take to buy all the items in the in-game store, and it’s certainly not pocket change. Although the total may be a lot of money to spend on video game cosmetics, Marvel Rivals fans have noted that it’s not an unexpectedly high number for a free-to-play game.

Marvel Rivals features 33 characters, giving players much flexibility regarding their playstyles. The developers also released an assortment of cosmetics for the characters, including iconic appearances from Marvel films and comics. As fans await the release of Marvel Rivals‘ first season, one player has summed up what it takes to buy everything currently available in the game.

Marvel Rivals Tip Can Help Players Protect Their Healers

One Marvel Rivals player points out an important detail that will let teammates know when their Strategist allies are in trouble.

In a post on the Marvel Rivals subreddit, user OZ415 gives an interesting insight into the game’s items shop. The user reveals that buying all the items and cosmetics in the Marvel Rivals in-game store would cost 101,450 Units. If players were to purchase those Units with cash, it would cost around $880. The user calculated this amount by making a database of all the cosmetics available in the game and then adding up the total cost. They also underline that this figure includes the nameplates which cost 150 Units each.

Total Cost of Marvel Rivals’ Store Doesn’t Surprise Everyone

While $880 is definitely not a small amount, fans think that it’s not an unreasonable price for the entirety of a game’s cosmetic offerings. One fan pointed out that The Sims 4 with all DLCs cost far more than this, as players must shell out roughly $1200 to grab everything. On the other hand, while some think the amount is too high, others defended the cost due to the game’s free-to-play model and the obvious need to generate income. Fans also used Call of Duty as a comparison, which has equally expensive cosmetics on top of a $70 up-front price tag.

However, many believe that this amount will exponentially increase in the future. Currently, Marvel Rivals is only in its pre-season, so it hasn’t had time to expand its store. Season 1 is just around the corner with an expected release in January, and leaks suggest that a plethora of new characters are coming in Marvel Rivals‘ Season 1. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the store’s total cost hit a four-figure price tag by the end of the quarter.
