The Special Limited Set in the Digimon Card Game is a first time product for the wonderful Digital Monsters game. The set features new cards that generically support every color, like the powerful Scrambles, reprints of powerhouse cards like DeathXmon and ShineGreymon: Ruin Mode, and some Regional-exclusive cards from Event Pack 7.
The best part about the set is that you have at least two of the Scramble cards for your collection by simply buying a box, making the set quite on the budget side. Let’s just hope your alternate arts are some of the pricier ones on the list.

Chaosdramon (X Antibody) (Alternate Art) – $3.56
The Machine King Is Back
There aren’t many cards in the set. That’s why some of the most valuable cards are so cheap. This Chaosdramon card was already available to players who were able to join in the late 2024 season of regional tournaments or Ultimate Cups.
The Event Pack 7 included a random card out of a lot of seven, including this Chaosdramon. Some players and collectors will argue that this is the max rarity of this card, so grabbing it while it’s cheap might be a good idea.

Purple Scramble – $3.88
New Recursion Cards
The Scramble cards were introduced in the Special Limited Set. These cards, available for each color, help decks, whose strategy revolves on a single stack, stay alive longer by recycling some trashed Digimon.
The purple version, specifically, is the most valuable one since one of the best decks that take advantage of this awesome effect is Fenriloogamon. The deck aims to defeat your opponent in a single turn, so if your stack gets removed due to its lack of protection effects, Purple Scramble can help close out the game.

If you purchase a full box of the Special Limited Set, you’ll receive a promotional box topper with your booster box. One of the better ones from the set is a brand-new alternate art for the fan-favorite, BeelStarmon ACE.

The Tamer Killer Bug Gets A New Art
Just like the BeelStarmon ACE, this GranKuwagamon ACE is moderately affordable, but don’t expect to get affordable art with this box topper. The new alternate art for the Tamer killer is some of the best in the game.
With a full art like this, Bandai is stepping up their card design game like no other company is and with prices like this, players will be happy for many years to come. GranKuwagamon is also an extremely generic card that can be splashed onto just about any green or purple deck.

Imperialdramon: Dragon Mode (Alternate Art) – $5.33
The Ancient Dragon Is Here To Destroy The Competition
Imperialdramon has been an oppressive force in the Digimon Card Game for a minute. The deck relies on spitting out Digimon and then quickly DNA Digivolving to control the board and have fast responses to your opponent’s attacks.
This alternate art was also featured in Event Pack 7. Now, with this Special Limited Set, players who could not attend the regional tournaments, or were unlucky and couldn’t pull the card, have access to this amazing artwork of the mighty dragon.

Quantumon (Alternate Art) – $6.25
One Of The Most Unique Removal Effects
Originally, Japan was the only region that was receiving LM sets from the Digimon Card Game. These sets included some exclusive promo cards and support for underutilized decks. With the Special Limited Set, other regions were able to get their hands on cards from LM sets, like this gorgeous Quantumon alternate art.

Sistermon Ciel (Alternate Art) – $11.78
Search Your Deck For Jesmon
Both Sistermon cards from the Jesmon starter deck received alternate arts in the Special Limited Set. These two are also a part of the card pool from Event Pack 7, so if you’ve played a couple of regionals and you haven’t opened your participation packs, you might have one of these already.
Luckily, Jesmon is a very popular game in the Digimon Card Game, so more support for the deck is sure to come. Make sure you grab these alternate arts while they are cheap. And remember, they work with just about any Royal Knight deck.

Sistermon Blanc (Alternate Art) – $15.23
Draw Cards And Build Your Trash
The other half of the Sistermon duo has an even better art than her older sister. Both Sistermon cards are incredible pieces for Royal Knight decks, and more specifically Jesmon, but Blanc herself is one of the most generic draw cards in the game.
Her On Play lets you dig deeper into your deck while filling your trash with either unwanted or pieces to recycle like most purple decks do. She can also offer a great layer of protection for your Jesmon stack.

DeathXmon (Alternate Art) – $22.81
One Of The Most Powerful Staples
DeathXmon has been an antimeta staple for many sets. The card can easily dismantle and punish decks that want to go as wide as possible by making DeathXmon’s cost as close to free. The card was only available as a Secret Rare from BT09 X-Record, making it hard for newer players to keep up with the competition. Now, with Special Limited Set, the card is more affordable than ever. Even if the card is not as competitively viable as before, it is still a great staple to keep in your arsenal.

Finally, A Budget Option For This ShineGreymon
It seems like Bandai loves printing extremely powerful staples at the Secret Rare rarity. Even though it makes sense, since they would want to limit the chance of getting one of the most powerful cards in the set, this makes it harder for casual and budget players to get the cards they want to play with.
With the Special Limited Set, ShineGreymon: Ruin Mode finally received a reprint. Even if the card is the most expensive in the set, it is far easier to acquire now that it has been reprinted.
