Stardew Valley Reaches 41 Million Sales Across All Platforms
ConcernedApe has started working on his next game, Haunted Chocolatier, but the developer announced in April 2023 that he has taken a break from the project to focus on Stardew Valley once again. In a recent blog post, ConcernedApe explained that while he still has a strong desire to make more games, he also feels like he has an obligation to all the people who purchased Stardew Valley. The developer, who previously assured fans that work on Haunted Chocolatier would only continue after the latest major build of Stardew Valley becomes free of bugs on all platforms, admitted to being heavily involved in addressing issues, porting, and more following the release of update 1.6.
Despite having already produced so much additional content for Stardew Valley over the years, ConcernedApe admitted that he still has plenty of ideas left for the game. He even said that the development of Stardew Valley could go on for the rest of his life.
Many issues popped up after Stardew Valley‘s 1.6 update finally reached console and mobile players in November. An emergency Christmas Day patch for Xbox systems addressed several problems, including game-crashing bugs that were connected to the title’s divorce mechanic and the newly introduced Raccoon Shop. These fixes were applied to the PlayStation versions of the game as well, while a rollout on the Switch should come soon, according to ConcernedApe.
