Phasmophobia Map Wish List

Phasmophobia Map Wish List

Phasmophobia is a fun co-op horror game where players enter various maps, investigate ghost activity, and try to deduce what the ghost is. Scaling that difficulty adds even more fun as the ghosts can become more aggressive, less obvious evidence is at play, and players just never know when they are going to mess up during a hunt and die. It’s a great game for co-op enthusiasts, as its structure ensures games are fun, quick, and still addictive. There are a lot of reasons for this. One of the most prominent reasons is all the ways friends can interact in a mission: whether someone is the Van Princess, the one constantly finding and using cursed objects, the one who is constantly dying, the one who is good at looping, or the friend that will swear up and down what the ghost is just to be wrong.

It’s a party game, truly, albeit a scary one. Another prominent factor in that and how players interact with Phasmophobia is its selection of maps. On the one hand, the variety of ghosts ensures none of the maps feel old; on the other hand, map variety can play a huge factor in how a session with friends goes. Tanglewood is reliable, but sometimes you have to throw in the prison or schoolhouse just to spice things up. While Phasmophobia devs are hard at work on a lot of new features, including a rework of Bleasdale Farmhouse, the sheer potential for maps is astounding. It remains to be seen which way Phasmophobia goes with future maps, but I have a few wishes (not with the monkeypaw though).

#1 – Grocery Store

I just can’t get a grocery store out of my head. It would likely be one of Phasmophobia‘s large maps, but done well, it can be a totally terrifying experience. I keep imagining having to hunt ghosts in aisles, encountering a Hantu in the Frozen Meats section, seeing a Poltergeist rip up the Produce section, and otherwise the shenanigans of playing with my friends on this map. Really, where Phasmophobia‘s map design shines is taking something simple like Tanglewood, a very basic house, and adding a ton of scare factor to it. A grocery store in Phasmophobia would benefit all the same.

#2 – Movie Theater

I’ve got fond memories of movie theaters, which Phasmophobia should absolutely rip apart. Maybe there is an attached arcade section, but even just the basic lobby and individual auditoriams would go a long way. There could even be a second floor to get the most out of a few auditoriums, but imagine the Phasmophobia ghost messing with the movie screen, coming down the aisles, and trying to loop them around aisles of seats would really just be a lot of fun. It hits all the main points of a standard Phasmophobia map, but the theme, especially if it were abandoned, would be a lot of fun.

#3 – Classic Diner

A classic American diner is a hallmark of horror, and something that I’m honestly surprised isn’t in Phasmophobia already. It would be a smaller map, but the Ghost could roam between seating sections, the kitchen, the bar area, the office, and the back outside section. Getting hunted by a ghost and running from the seats to the trash would just be a lot of fun, and with the proper set-up, it could be a relatively unique map layout.

Other Possible Phasmophobia Maps

These aren’t as high on my personal wish list, but I could totally see these maps working in Phasmophobia:

  • Rundown church with cemetery
  • A Motel
  • Office Building
  • Fair Grounds
  • A Mine
