Marvel Rivals Player Creates DC Skins For Select Heroes

Marvel Rivals Player Creates DC Skins For Select Heroes

Summary

  • Modders have already turned some of the Marvel Rivals roster into DC characters.
  • The mod is purely cosmetic and makes existing Rivals characters look like their DC counterparts.
  • Some of the options include turning Moon Knight into Batman, and reskinning Black Widow so she looks like Harley Quinn.

With updates for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League coming to an end, DC bosses are likely watching people play Marvel Rivals right now and wondering what could have been. If they want an even better idea of what could have been, someone has already modded DC skins into Rivals and has been running around confusing enemies and teammates alike by reskinning existing characters as Batman, Harley Quinn, and more.

ToastedShoes and Kboy Irastris are the modders responsible for DC skins in Rivals with the former sharing what that looks like via their YouTube channel. The mod has since been polished to the point that it is now available for wider use and you can download it right now through Nexus Mods.

Even though Marvel and DC have been fighting over the same fanbase for the better part of a century, a lot of their biggest characters are extremely similar. The Rivals that have been chosen by ToastedShoes for the DC mod treatment demonstrate that. Green Arrow is simply an alternative look for Hawkeye, Aquaman is Namor, and the most amusing, and perhaps most relevant thanks to the Superman trailer, is Jeff the Land Shark being transformed into Krypto.

A Modder Has Added DC Character Skins To Marvel Rivals

Spider-Man Looks Really Good Dressed As Blue Beetle

The aptly-named DC Character Pack mod has 11 DC skins for members of the Rivals roster that you can don to confuse those you fight alongside and against the next time you fire up Rivals. Other DC characters in the pack include Harley Quinn who takes Black Widow’s place, Magik has been given the Wonder Woman treatment, and the skin that I think looks best of all 11 included in the pack, Winter Soldier as Peacemaker.

Even though the mod is only available on PC, since Marvel Rivals has crossplay, I’m assuming it’s possible these DC characters could show up in your matches even when playing on console. Just know if you happen upon a Batman that you’re not hallucinating and, more importantly, don’t waste the next 20 minutes desperately researching how to unlock him in Rivals. He’s just Moon Knight in a cowl and black cape.

As for how long the mod will be available, ToastedShoes notes that even though it’s a purely cosmetic change to the game, there’s every chance Marvel, NetEase, and perhaps even DC don’t like their work and ban the fan-added skins. Between Kill The Justice League and MultiVersus‘s dwindling numbers, my guess is DC and Warner Bros. will be the ones that take issue with the mod first since they won’t want people flocking to a Marvel game to enjoy their IP.
