Genshin Impact has provided players with an overview of the new Genius Invokation TCG cards for Version 5.3, with Clorinde and Mualani making their debut as playable characters. While Genshin Impact is primarily an open-world RPG, it has also introduced a few alternative modes of gameplay over the years. The Serenitea Pot and Genius Invokation TCG are the most notable examples, with the latter having been added to Genshin Impact in Version 3.3.
Genius Invokation TCG has seen plenty of changes since its debut, but at its core, it remains a card game that tries to simulate the combat mechanics of Genshin Impact. As such, players are expected to build a team for Genius Invokation TCG, and augment them with Artifacts, Food, and other types of buffs. Having been released in Version 3.3, there are still quite a few characters missing in Genius Invokation TCG, though Version 5.2 notably added Rosaria and Sigewinne to the playable cast.

Genshin Impact’s upcoming Version 5.3 update is bringing plenty of new content, characters, events, and more for players to dive into.
Version 5.3 is set to introduce Clorinde and Mualani to Genius Invokation TCG. A detailed overview and demonstration of both characters was shared by the official Genshin Impact account on Reddit, along with action cards and balance changes made to the game mode. In terms of gameplay, Mualani is the first Natlan character in Genshin Impact to be added to Genius Invokation TCG. Her ability kit revolves around maximizing Normal Attack damage via swapping characters (on both sides of the field) while her Elemental Skill is active. On the other hand, Clorinde deals increased damage and heals herself by building Bond of Life stacks. While this can be accomplished with Normal Attacks, her Elemental Burst fills up Clorinde’s Bond of Life instantly.
Genshin Impact: Genius Invokation TCG Cards and Changes in Version 5.3
In terms of action cards, a notable addition is the Demon Warrior’s Feather Mask, which adds an Energy Point to the equipped character every time they use a Technique. Given that Saurians in Genshin Impact are represented as Technique cards, the Artifact card fittingly suits Natlan decks. Furthermore, People of the Springs is a new Support Card that increases the usage count for player Summons by one, with three charges in total. This establishes a synergy with Mualani, whose Elemental Burst summons her shark.
While some Genshin Impact players aren’t fans of Genius Invokation TCG, the content is (for the most part) entirely optional. However, the overall popularity of Genius Invokation TCG can’t be denied, as the developers have recently released a physical version of the Genshin Impact card game in China, opening up the possibility for in-person tournaments. Version 5.3 is set to launch on January 1, 2025.
