If you’re new to FPS games starting out with Marvel Rivals, one of the hardest things you’ll have to get used to is stabilizing your aim. This character also has two stacks of the Mystic Protection ability that lets you turn invisible and not take any damage for a few seconds, which is perfect if you go too far into the enemy territory. Overall, this is one of the best Duelists to use for beginners.

While playing Marvel Rivals for the first time, you’ll have the easiest time playing The Punisher. He’s a simple man with multiple guns for both short and long-range, while also having a zipline to take you from one place to another quickly, which can be helpful for escaping divers.

Though there is a bit of a skill requirement with this character since you have to find good turret placements. Once you find those, you can easily suppress enemies and prevent them from entering a certain area with your constant firepower.

4

Jeff The Land Shark

Difficulty Rating: One Star

We can’t talk about the best starter characters without talking about the absolute cuteness that Jeff is. His cute walk already makes the enemies not want to attack, and he’s also the easiest support to use since his basic attack unleashes a wave of water that heals any ally that comes in contact with it.

You can also attack enemies with your secondary fire if you want, but the best part about him is the ultimate. Once it’s ready, you can gobble up all the enemies and allies in a certain area and take them away from the battlefield, which gives way to some of the funniest moments in the game.

3

Rocket Raccoon

Difficulty Rating: One Star

From one little cute character to the other, Rocket is the second easiest support you’ll find in Marvel Rivals. It’s even better if you have Groot on the team since both him and Jeff can ride on Groot’s back, which makes them even cozier to play since you don’t have to press movement keys unless you have to run away.

Rocket also has a neat ability to place a revival portal that respawns allies instantly when they’re defeated. Finally, his ultimate can buff all the surrounding allies’ firepower, making it easier to push through a choke point.

Difficulty Rating: Three Star

While playing Marvel Rivals, there are going to be plenty of times when you’ll be forced to play tank when no one else wants to. Thor is perfect for these situations since he’s not only a great tank with his bonus health on demand, but also a decent DPS with his Awakening Rune ability that you can use commonly.

While playing Thor, your main job is to push into the enemies and use the buffed state to defeat as many of them as possible. You should always aim at the enemy supports first and hope that your team’s Strategists heal you as well.

1

Venom

Difficulty Rating: One Star

Finally, if you have to play tank and don’t particularly like Thor, Venom can be another easy pick. If you’re planning to use this character, it’s important to first turn off the automatic swing in settings since this allows you to aim where you want to swing from.

Venom thrives on diving deep into multiple enemies and using his slow alongside the basic attacks to catch a few squishies. Unfortunately, he’s a lot more reliant on the team since his damage isn’t as high and you’ll require healing quite fast if you dive into more than two enemies.
