If you haven’t played any game like Marvel Rivals before, it’ll take you a while to get used to the gameplay since it can be quite overwhelming. Not only do you have to get used to the general gameplay, but also learn all the abilities your teammates and enemies are using since you’ll have to deal with them often.

Here’s how to soar around the battlefield in style and dominate your opponents as Iron Man in Marvel Rivals!
However, once you do get used to the game and it starts getting boring, you’d want to challenge yourself with the heroes that take a lot of skill. Thankfully, you have quite a few choices for each role when it comes to this.

Loki
Difficulty Rating: Four Stars
As the God of Mischief, Loki has a lot of things going for him in Marvel Rivals. The best part about him is that he can easily discourage the enemies by showing them all his clones, which makes them feel like they’re against more than six players. Though he’s also one of the hardest Strategists to play.
In theory, his kit seems easy enough since you can teleport to your clones on demand and produce a healing zone for allies. However, your clone placement is what takes true skill. You have to place them in the locations where they’d be slightly frustrating for the enemies but not enough to remove them.

Luna Snow
Difficulty Rating: Two Stars
It might be a little surprising to see Luna Snow being one of the hardest characters to play given her difficulty rating is fairly low, but it’s the positioning with this character that matters the most in high ranks. Luna Snow can run at a high speed when you’re moving forward for a little while, but this speed boost ends when you move backward or use your attacks.
As a Strategist, you’ll be the main target for the enemies, which makes it important to use your speed boost wisely. You’ll also have to head into practice mode and get used to your Absolute Zero projectile to get away from divers easily. Finally, choosing the right target for Share The Stage also takes some experience.

Hawkeye
Difficulty Rating: Four Stars
When you first read Hawkeye’s kit, you’ll be a bit confused by his high difficulty rating since he seems like a simple stand-and-shoot character. However, he uses a bow and arrow, and unlike most characters in the game, hits from his attacks aren’t hit scans. This means that you have to predict the enemy’s movement with your arrows.
Depending on the distance between you and the enemy, you’ll sometimes have a full second between you shooting the arrow and it reaching the enemy. Being able to consistently get hits on the enemies even without the hit scan is what takes true skill with this hero apart from the positioning in high ranks.
4
Psylocke
Difficulty Rating: Five Stars
Psylocke can be both the strongest and the weakest hero on your team, and it completely depends on the player using it, which justifies the highest possible difficulty rating. When you play her for the first time, she’ll feel quite underwhelming since she can’t deal a lot of damage with her bullets even at close range.
However, the best part about Psylocke is the sheer amount of mobility you have. You aren’t supposed to one-shot enemies. Instead, you’re supposed to dance around them and make it impossible to hit you while you slowly chip away at their health.
3
Spider-Man
Difficulty Rating: Five Stars
Spider-Man is undoubtedly the most difficult character to play in the current roster of Marvel Rivals, and that’s for a lot of reasons. However, if you haven’t already, you should first turn off the automatic swing in your settings to even have a chance at using this character efficiently, since this allows you to aim your swing.

Spider-Man is one of the more challenging Duelists to play in Marvel Rivals. Here’s how to become a web-slinging master with him!
Apart from learning good spots to swing from, you’ll also need good aim with this character since you consistently need to web enemies to deal extra damage to them. You’ll also have to learn how you can single out enemies since Spider-Man can easily be defeated if there are multiple enemies around.
2
Doctor Strange
Difficulty Rating: Two Stars
You might start playing Doctor Strange after looking at the low difficulty rating, but you’re bound to have a hard time because of a few reasons. Firstly, this character’s basic attack isn’t hit scan and it also travels slowly. It’s nearly impossible to predict an enemy’s movement for this attack from long range.
It’s also difficult to learn the time when you should use his portals since there’s quite a long cooldown on them. Finally, Strange’s ultimate can be one of the most impactful since it can easily help you teamwipe the enemies, but it can also be useless if used at the wrong moment.
1
Peni Parker
Difficulty Rating: Four Stars
Peni Parker is one of the most interesting Vanguards you’ll find when it comes to the scaling of her value with your skill. There’s no hiding the fact that this tank is great for defense since she can place various mines and webs, with the latter healing her and the former causing great damage to the enemies.
However, you have to live long enough to get her setup ready, which can be especially hard against oppressive enemies. Patience is the main skill you’ll have to learn with Peni since she doesn’t have much to protect herself until you have your hive ready.
