- Fans need more than just one image to generate excitement for Bosch: Legacy season 3’s upcoming release.
Excitement is building for Bosch: Legacy season 3 ahead of its release in March 2025. A first-look image was released this week showing Harry Bosch and Honey Chandler running away from danger in the upcoming season, and it has fans excited about what lies ahead. However, with just over three months to go until the release of Bosch: Legacy season 3, this image feels like it should have come out ages ago.
Bosch: Legacy fans will need more than one image to get them hyped for the new season, after Amazon canceled the show back in September. By now, a teaser trailer would have been a better option as opposed to one image, as exciting as it was. Here’s hoping Amazon can drum up a bit more anticipation in the coming weeks.

The Bosch: Legacy fans have had a whirlwind few months since Amazon dismantled Michael Connelly’s universe in the space of a few weeks back in September 2024. The story behind Bosch: Legacy‘s cancelation is well known by now. Amazon claimed it was a planned handover to the Ballard spin-off series, but it clearly wasn’t a creative decision based on Titus Welliver’s pre-cancelation comments. Jerry Edgar’s solo show was given the boot and Amazon desperately need to attend a Ted Talk on how to build television universes. The latest development saw the release of a first-look image (courtesy of TVLine) of Harry Bosch and Honey Chandler running away from danger in Bosch: Legacy season 3. It was finally a positive update for fans, but why has it taken so long?
Amazon desperately need to attend a Ted Talk on how to build television universes.
Bosch: Legacy’s final season completed filming several months ago, so surely Amazon could have given fans a teaser image sooner than three months before the final season is released. Where is the teaser trailer for the new season? Is Amazon actually planning on promoting Bosch: Legacy season 3? These are questions on the lips of a lot of concerned fans out there. Amazon released a teaser trailer for Reacher season 3 over three weeks ago ahead of its release on February 20, 2024. Working on the basis of that timeframe, fans should have been given a trailer for Bosch: Legacy season 3 by now, with rumors suggesting the premiere date will be towards the beginning of March.

Amazon Is Trying To End Bosch: Legacy On A Whimper As Opposed To Giving It A Glorious Send-Off
Harry Bosch has been part of the Amazon family for over a decade now, and helped put the streaming platform on the map. However, Amazon is trying to kick their prodigal son out the back door in favor of their new favorite children: Jack Reacher and Alex Cross. Bosch: Legacy‘s viewership has grown over the course of the first two seasons it has been on the air, and has actually outperformed the original Bosch series. This isn’t Amazon bringing Bosch: Legacy to a fitting end. The plans back in 2023 were to expand Michael Connelly’s universe with two spin-offs, so it was clearly a proven commodity they wanted to expand upon.
A solitary image of Bosch and Chandler under threat isn’t exactly an overly promising sign of a big promotional push to come for Bosch: Legacy‘s final season. Of course, it is exciting, but fans are clinging to whatever they can get at the moment, and that’s not a lot. Amazon has the kind of attitude that smacks of ‘just be grateful for what you have. Amazon clearly thought the Bosch fan base could be pushed around as they have been trying to kill it for years. Why has one of the survivors of the golden age of television had to rely on the fans to save it TWICE? The old adage of ‘the customer is always right’ should be applied in relation to Bosch: Legacy. The customers have told Amazon they want more Harry Bosch, so they should listen to what they want and order more solo stories.
