Clash Royale Clone “Bug”; Here’s How It Works & Gameplay Tips

A peculiar bug in Clash Royale’s latest game mode has caught the community’s attention, offering both surprising mechanics and potential gameplay imbalances. The glitch allows cloned troops to receive a massive health boost, breaking the standard rules of how clones function. Traditionally, cloned troops only have 1 hit point and are not healable, but this anomaly allows them to withstand significant damage and act as if they were full-health regular troops. Here is everything you need to know about the Clash Royale Clone Bug.

The Game Mode Behind the Glitch

The bug originates from a new feature where players can destroy stacks of pancakes that periodically appear in the arena. Those stacks, when successfully dismantled, provide many levels of gradation to all alive troops and buildings for the entire team. Quite interestingly, it also includes the upgraded cloned troops, which shouldn’t receive the enhancement.

What makes this bug unique is that it not only levels up cloned troops but also adjusts their health to the maximum value corresponding to their new level. Essentially, the clones behave as if they were deployed using a Mirror card, making them nearly indistinguishable from regular troops. However, these clones remain unhealable and retain their current percentage of health even after further upgrades.

Reproducing the Clone Bug

To reproduce the glitch, all one has to do is have a bunch of clones active on the battlefield when a pancake stack is destroyed. Once the buff is applied, the clones will respect the same upgrades that ordinary troops receive along with an increase in health, thus making them much more aggressive. It’s economically feasible to clone expensive units like Electro Giants or Pekkas at a very low cost in elixir and then, just watch as they go wreak havoc.

Strategies and Tactics Using the Bug

Players have found creative ways to exploit this mechanic for strategic advantages:

  • Electro Giant Clones: By cloning Electro Giants, players can deploy dual stunning tanks, overwhelming opponents who may not expect the clones to survive initial attacks.
  • Pekka Pairing: Cloning an Evolution Pekka creates an extra high-damage unit, capable of swiftly dismantling even the toughest enemy tanks.
  • 2v2 Synergy: In team battles, cloned Battle Healers and Electro Dragons become formidable, especially when opponents mistakenly target them with splash damage, only to see them endure and retaliate.

Positioning also plays a key role—placing clones safely behind the King Tower ensures they survive long enough to receive the upgrade, amplifying their impact. If you are interested in more gameplay tips, you can also checkout Best Clash Royale decks for Arena 1.

While this bug adds an exciting layer to gameplay, its implications raise fairness concerns. Intentionally leveraging this mechanic could be considered bug abuse, which might violate fair play guidelines. Future patches are likely to address this issue.
