Updated December 27, 2024, by Andrew Scariati: Ichiban’s journey continues in Infinite Wealth, but Yakuza: Like A Dragon is where the journey starts for the series’ newest protagonist. We’ve included more information about how to get your hands on Like A Dragon’s Gold keys while maximizing your efficiency so you can complete this game before Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
Accessing Hidden Merchants Through Foreman Job
The first thing you have to do to acquire Gold Safe Keys is to unlock the Foreman Job.
This is because the Foreman Job has an ability outside combat that allows you to break wooden walls that block a few special merchant shops in the game.
Head to Hello Work in the Commercial District and talk to Ririka.
There is one main requirement for the Foreman Job: having Level 3 Charisma. Once you change to a Foreman Job, you can head to special merchants.
Where To Find The Black Market Merchants
Two merchants in the game sell Gold Safe Keys and the first one you can find is in the Bar District, so head to the Can Quest Taxi drop-off and go to Hamako’s Restaurant.
You will find a boarded-up door in this street that you can break because of your Foreman Job skill.
There you will find Fumie, the Arms Dealer, an old lady who sells Gold Safe Keys for 10,000 Yen per piece.
You can buy enough Gold Keys to open all the Gold Safes in the game at once if you have enough money.
Getting money becomes easier later in the game, especially once you have access to the Millennium Tower.
The second merchant can be located near Seagull Cinema Taxi Stop on Isezaki Road Area.
Head to the Zhou Long Distribution weapon shop and go up the stairs.
Here you will be able to see a boarded-up door, so demolish it and you will find the Black Market Merchant, selling Gold Safe Keys for 10,000 Yen each.
How To Get A Free Gold Key
If you do not have enough money to buy multiple Gold Safe Keys, then you can head on over to the Citron Mahjong building in Koreatown, to acquire a free Gold Key.
Make your way inside the building and head to the second floor.
Towards the Westside where the stairs are located, you will find a man with a face mask sitting on the ground.
Talk to him around 50 times, and he will give you a free Gold Key. However, if you are low on cash and can’t buy more Gold Safe Keys, then there are several easy ways to earn more money.
What To Do With Your Gold Keys
Whether you’ve amassed a horde of Gold Keys or you just got your first gold key in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, here are some ideas for where to use your keys.
