Honkai: Star Rail has revealed the exact release date and time of the upcoming Special Program for update 3.0. Before each new update arrives, HoYoverse hosts a livestream event that reveals most of the content that will be included in the next version of Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai‘s social media accounts have previously confirmed that the new update will add two new characters, both of whom are expected to have a five-star rarity. The two new characters are The Herta, who is rumored to arrive in the first part of the update, and Aglaea, whose banner should drop in the second banner cycle.

A new Honkai: Star Rail leak reveals that the game is set to receive a significant update that will enhance FPS options for some players.

A new post on Honkai: Star Rail‘s official X account has revealed more information about the upcoming Special Program event, including its name and release date. According to the announcement, players can expect the Special Program for Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 to go live on January 1 at 19:30 (UTC+8). The new update will be called Paean of Era Nova, which can be translated as “Praise for the New Era,” indicating that the game could undergo significant changes in the upcoming update. This lends more credibility to some previous rumors suggesting that Honkai: Star Rail limited banners will see significant changes.

According to multiple credible leakers, Honkai: Star Rail banners will increase the number of limited characters featured in an update from 4 to 8, with 4 for each banner phase. This means that, on average, every banner cycle will feature one new five-star character and three re-runs. The leaks suggest that The Herta will be joined by Feixiao, Jade, and Lingsha on the first banner, while the second part of the update will feature Aglaea, Robin, Boothill, and Silverwolf.

These leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, and players will have to wait until January 1 to get more official information about these changes. The only two confirmed details about the next update are that it will feature The Herta and Aglaea, and introduce a brand-new path in Honkai: Star Rail known as Path of Remembrance. The Remembrance path will apparently revolve around summons, which is a playstyle that’s expected to replace the current Break meta.

Similar to how Genshin Impact introduced a new version of the Traveler, Honkai: Star Rail is expected to add a new path form for the Trailblazer in 3.0. Honkai’s main character won’t be the only Remembrance character in this update, as Aglaea’s official description confirms that she will also follow this path.
