How to Get Pugneum in No Man’s Sky
Kill Sentinels
Pugneum is the main drop from Sentinels in No Man’s Sky. When you destroy a Sentinel, it drops a barrel of loot, which always includes Pugneum. The amount of Pugneum you get depends on the enemy’s tier. The stronger the enemy, the more Pugneum you’ll get. Sentinels appear on almost every planet in the game, but there are a few ways you can farm Pugneum more efficiently.
Here’s how you can easily farm Sentinels in No Man’s Sky:
- Clear all five waves of Sentinels on a planet: The easiest way to farm Sentinels is to start killing them on any planet (bonus points if it’s a planet with aggressive Sentinels). When you start the fight, you’ll get a wanted level indicated by a dot under your multi-tool bar. The levels increase as you defeat Sentinels, and clearing all enemies at maximum level temporarily disables Sentinels on the planet. It also shows you the location of the nearest Sentinel Pillar.
On planets with aggressive Sentinels, you can find and pick up Gravitino Balls. Doing that gives you three wanted stars.
- Complete Nexus missions: The Nexus on the Anomaly sometimes offers missions to destroy Sentinels and their structures. This is a great opportunity to get Pugneum, some extra rewards, and even Quicksilver.
- Defend your settlement: If you own a settlement, Sentinels will occasionally attack it. Make sure to check in on your settlement and defend it when needed.
Refine Atlantideum
Atlantideum is one of the resources found on the Dissonant planets. You can refine Atlantideum into Pugneum using a Refiner, and since there’s an abundance of Atlantideum on any Dissonant planet, you should have a full inventory in no time. This is also a good opportunity to get yourself a Sentinel Interceptor if you don’t have one.
Buy it on Space Stations
Like many resources in No Man’s Sky, you can buy Pugneum using Galactic Trade Terminals on space stations, bases, and outposts. The price is around 180 Units, but it can vary depending on the system you’re in.
Random pilots on space stations and outposts can also sell Pugneum.
