Just to be clear, there is nothing wrong with a good old-fashioned power fantasy, and isekai anime work splendidly as an escape from reality. Sometimes, nothing hits the spot like watching an “ordinary” guy or girl destroy kingdoms without really trying. And, 2024’s most OP isekai anime MCs can do just that.

He is sent to a dungeon to die by the goddess, while the other students head out to become stronger.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime enjoyed its third season in 2024, which focused primarily on the political climate of The Central World. While not devoid of fights, this season emphasized discourse, world-building, and board meetings a lot more, with Rimuru, in particular, being kept away from the battlefield as much as possible. That decision makes sense as, by this point, few characters in this universe can challenge Tempest’s Guardian Lords, let alone everybody’s favorite Slime who stands at the top of the mountain.

Reincarnated as the secret final boss of an otome game, Yumiella knows she has to keep a low profile and make preparations to protect herself, along with helping out the heroes if they stumble at any point during the world-ending events they will face throughout the story. Therefore, she spends her youth studying magic and grinding in a dungeon, allowing her to become a master of the dark arts who is completely and utterly broken by the time she attends school and meets the game’s supposed hero.
As level 99 is treated as the ceiling in Villainess Level 99‘s world, Yumiella is pretty much as strong as she could realistically be, with her only weakness being a vulnerability to light magic. However, her dark magic is ridiculously overwhelming, to the point that she creates a black hole just as a demonstration of her abilities. She could probably destroy her entire world if she wanted to, and nobody would be able to stop her.

Flio (Chillin’ in Another World With Level 2 Super Cheat Powers)

For roughly half an episode, Banaza/Flio is one of the weakest isekai anime protagonists of 2024; however, that changes once he levels up, unlocking the power he inherited when he was summoned to serve as a kingdom’s hero. At level 2, Flio’s stats become infinite, making him essentially a walking deity who cannot be remotely challenged by anyone or anything. Before he even comprehends his situation or abilities, he manages to defeat Fenrys, a member of the Dark One’s 4 Heavenly Kings and a terrifying Demon who can destroy most opponents. Also, she kind of becomes his wife, kind of.

Frankly, he could kill Flio, Yumiella, Rimuru, and Touka without lifting a finger or breaking a sweat.
My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered is a parody that sends a cosmic horror monster to another world filled with isekai “heroes,” many of which have cool powers synonymous with the genre. Playing the part of the monster, Yogiri can kill somebody (or something) with just a thought. That’s all. He is a Death Note without any pesky restrictions. He does not even have to be in the presence of his target, and he even takes out a Demon Lord-type figure by accident.
