Jake Paul Could Be Fighting a Major UFC Star in 2025

Summary

  • Jake Paul reportedly gearing up to take on Conor McGregor in 2025.
  • The bout is rumored to take place in India in either July, August, or September.
  • McGregor previously stated he was in negotiations to fight Jake’s older brother Logan.

The controversial YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul is reportedly gearing up to fight UFC star Conor McGregor in 2025. Paul recently went up against boxing legend Mike Tyson in a massive Netflix event that saw the influencer beat the 58-year-old Tyson via unanimous decision. Now, it looks like the star is eyeing up his next massive boxing match for the new year with McGregor rumored to be Paul’s next opponent.

Paul’s bout with Tyson was massively controversial, mainly due to the exceeding age of the legendary boxer. At 58 years old, Mike Tyson is over three decades older than Jake Paul. Although many expected Tyson’s experience and extensive boxing knowledge to help him secure the win over the 27-year-old, the massive age difference proved to be too much for the once-legendary boxer. With another win on Paul’s record, the YouTuber looks set to have another combat sports legend in his sights for the new year.

Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor Rumored for 2025

While there are many boxers eager to ‘end’ Jake Paul’s career, ESPN’s Salvador Rodriguez reports that UFC fighter Conor McGregor could be next in line to take on Jake Paul (as spotted by Dexerto). According to Rodriguez, Paul vs McGregor is “on the table” for 2025, specifically either July, August, or September. The reporter also claims that the boxing bout will take place in India. With details likely still being finalized, it’s currently unknown if this will be an exhibition match or a professional bout.

After the rather lackluster fight with Mike Tyson, there have been plenty of rumors circulating around Paul’s next opponent. Tommy Fury recently addressed a rematch with Jake Paul, stating that he would be open to a rematch but wants to talk “serious numbers” first. Fury was considered to be Paul’s first real challenge in the world of boxing, ultimately handing the controversial figure his first and only loss.

Rodriguez’s report of a fight between McGregor and Paul comes just days after the UFC star took to social media to announce that he was in “preliminary agreements” to face Jake Paul’s older brother Logan in an exhibition match in India. Although McGregor said he has agreed to the bout, it looks like negotiations could have taken a turn with Jake stepping in on his brother’s behalf.

McGregor also noted that he will seek his return to the octagon after the boxing match. The UFC star was last seen in the octagon in 2021 when he was handed his sixth professional loss as an MMA fighter and his second loss to fellow lightweight fighter Dustin Poirier. McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June after the pair were rival coaches on The Ultimate Fighter, but the bout was canceled after McGregor pulled out with a broken toe.
