The Yakuza series has always allowed you to indulge in various Japanese customs, whether it’s playing Mahjong or visiting Cabaret Clubs. In Yakuza Kiwami, you can meet a young woman named Yui at one of those clubs. Through frequent visits, you can attempt to befriend the woman and win her heart.

Yakuza Kiwami: Complete Minigame Location List
Minigames are the heart of any Life A Dragon game. Here’s where to find them all in Yakuza Kiwami.
As this is a Yakuza game, winning her affection is essentially a minigame. You need to make the right dialogue choices and do the right things to win her over. If you do, you will get to have a steaming encounter with her and earn the Yui The Hostess achievement or trophy, which is, of course, the main reason why you’d do it. Here is everything you need to know to win her over.
How To Find Yui
Before you can sweep her off her feet, you must find Yui. Well, she works at Club Jewel, which is just northeast of the Millennium Tower. However, the game won’t let you enter straight away.
You first need to visit the MEB to the west of the Club Jewel and ask the guy working there about the establishment. He will tell you about Yui and even offer to take you to the club
How To Gain Yui’s Affection
Yui’s affection works on a ranking system. Every time you meet her, you will see a progress bar. If you can fill it enough to reach the little segment at the end, you will go up rank at the end of the meeting.
You need to get up to Rank S to gain maximum affection with her. To do so, you must say the right things in conversations, order the right food and drink, give her gifts, go on dates, and equip the right gear.
What Food And Drink To Order
Buying the right food and drink can boost Yui’s affection. However, these things also cost money.
Therefore, it’s best to stick with Orange Juice because it’s cheap, and she likes it. She really likes different champagnes, but those are a lot more expensive, so only get them if you have a lot of money.
When it comes to food, the likes of the Fruit Platter and Chicken Karaage go down well with her.
What To Wear
The gear you’re wearing can impact Yui’s affection. If she likes what you have on, her affection will go up. If she doesn’t like what you’re wearing, her affection will decrease.
There are several things she doesn’t like you wearing, but she is a fan of the Baseball Shirt you can buy from Don Quijote. Alternatively, you can just unequip gear and accessories, and she’ll have a neutral response, which doesn’t impact your affection either way.
Her appreciation of what you’re wearing has nothing to do with Kiryu’s classic suit.
What Gifts To Give Her
Partway through meetings with Yui, you can give her a present. Unfortunately, though, that’s actually more troublesome than it sounds because she isn’t a fan of most gifts.
She responds well to the silver and gold bracelets you can get from Le Marche. However, she’s not interested in most other things. So, it’s best to avoid giving her too many gifts. The ones she likes boost her affection, but they’re also generally very expensive, and you don’t need them to rank up.
Avoid giving her the same thing twice, as this upsets her.
How Dates Work
You can ask Yui out on a date during meetings with her. She will normally reject the offer. However, if she accepts, you have to meet her at the location she suggests.
While you can ask her out in the middle of the session, you must still finish it before going on the date.
Once you meet her, you must choose between ‘play’ and ‘shopping.’ If you select ‘play,’ you get a list of minigames you can play with her.
Her affection bar increases at the end of the date.
What To Say To Her
Here are all the things she may say and the best ways to respond:
What Yui Says |
Correct Response |
---|---|
Oh, really? Did you quit your job? |
I was in prison. |
That’s why, when I first meet a new customer, I always say, “No matter how much you spend, I’m not falling in love.” |
At least you’re honest. |
Actually, I’m stuck on that. I looked up some classes, but there are so many options! If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them. |
Cooking Class. |
And now they’re telling me to convince her not to do it. They dragged me into it, but… |
It’s your sister’s choice. |
Either way, whether they have a boyfriend or not, there aren’t that many girls who like being hit on by customers. |
Men need to consider a girl’s feelings. |
But what if they go all the way to marriage? What would they say at the wedding? That they met at a cabaret club…? |
They can be vague about it. |
Well, Kiryu-san, what do you think of people who don’t attend their class reunions? |
Maybe they don’t like fun. |
That’s what annoys me most about it. The least he could have done was say, “I’ll buy you something. Let’s go shopping!” |
That’s an old trick. |
I did tell them! I said, “I don’t like you at all.” But it didn’t discourage them. |
They’re jerks. |
I could never say that! Even if it’s to liven up the mood, I couldn’t bring myself to say “I like you” to a customer! |
How about “I love you”? |
That’s why I can’t take the plunge yet. What do you think? |
The sooner you get him, the better. |
Just try and guess! |
You’re not cute. (This response seems bad at first, but it soon gives you a boost). |
That’s not it. My sister’s asked him to go on a real date several times, but he still hasn’t made any effort to see her outside the club! Is that even possible? |
What a weird guy… |
If that’s the case, he’s having an affair. It won’t lead to anything good, so she should end it with this guy, right? |
Not our business. (You lose some affection at first, but then it goes up significantly). |
So when I imagine having to deal with the photo shoot from hell all over again, I get depressed. |
Have a friend take them. |
For example, even when she orders a cocktail, it’s actually a virgin. |
Do you do that too? (This response doesn’t gain affection, but it does open up the next question, which can net you a lot of affection.) |
Maybe I can hold my liquor. How about a drinking contest? |
Challenge accepted. |
That’s why I was worried that you would suddenly leave, too. |
That’s certainly possible. |
Exactly. That’s why I need to make sure I don’t ever fall in love with someone I wouldn’t want to say goodbye to! |
Bet you’re in love already. |
So I told her she was too young to understand, and she countered with a jab that I’m too old! What do you think? |
Age really matters. |
Then the salon was really crowded. Even though I had an appointment, I still had to wait. |
I’m sorry to hear that. |
Yeah. It’s a quota we have to meet. Unless I get someone to escort me a few times per month, I have to pay a penalty. |
I don’t mind helping you out. |
Oh, actually, I already have something planned for that. So leave it to me! |
Looking forward to it. |
Events
Once your affection starts to go up with Yui, you must complete certain events to keep things going. These events will trigger at certain ranks and will begin with her messaging you.
This is how to complete the different events:
First Event
You will receive a message from Yui simply saying, “Help me Kiryu-san!” Then she will ask you to come to Shichifuku Street East. So, head to the exclamation point on Shichifuku Street East, which is just around the corner from Club Jewel.
You can find her by the street wearing a coat and talking to a man. You just have to go up to them, and then everything will play out through conversations. You don’t actually have to make any decisions or fight anyone.
Second Event
At one point after a meeting, Yui will send you a message about her little sister’s boyfriend. So, you need to meet Yui at Theater Square. The place is southwest of Club Jewel, on the other side of Millenium Tower.
Once you get there, you will see Yui hiding behind a post as she spies on her sister. Walk over to her to begin the event. It all plays out in conversations, so you don’t have to do anything.
Third Event (A Goodbye Promise)
Once you’ve completely won over Yui, she will send you a message asking you to go out on a date. This serves as the start of the A Goodbye Promise sub-story.
You will have to meet up with her at Theater Square as you did in the second event. Once you do, you will engage in several conversations in which you aren’t an active participant.
Then, it ends with an interesting live-action video, which serves as the conclusion of the event and sub-story. It also nets you the Yui the Hostess achievement or trophy.
