Growing Insight is an integral part of Infinity Nikki. Without it, you won’t be able to get access to unique materials required to craft late-game clothing Sketches. If you’re looking to progress your abilities and unlock some new clothing then you’re going to want to farm Insight points for your specific ability.

The four main abilities that can be upgraded in the Heart of Infinity are Fishing, Collecting, Animal-Grooming, and Bug-Catching. Knowing which bugs to catch and which ones to not bother with will help you not waste precious time!
Bug-Catching Insight Overview
Each time that you catch a bug or insect variety in the game, you gain Bug-Catching Insight. With enough Insight, you can acquire new Sketches for clothing pieces related to that ability. You will also be able to upgrade the ability, allowing you to acquire essence from bugs.
You can see how much Bug-Catching Insight you have by opening the Heart of Infinity and selecting one of the traits in the Bug-Catching skill tree. Hovering over a perk will show your overall Insight points on the top right of the screen, next to your currency.
Unlocking the ability to collect essence from bugs is crucial for crafting mid to late-game clothing pieces. Once you get to a certain point in the game, most Sketches require essence from either bugs, fish, or animals.
The Best Bugs To Catch To Gain Insight
Players need to accumulate around 1,000 Insight per ability (Bug-Catching, Fishing, etc) to reach the point of unlocking the collection of essence. A good way to rack up Insight points is by catching only higher-tier insects. The more rare the insect is, the more Insight they will give upon each catch.
Another great way to collect a ton of Insight quickly is by using the Realm of Nourishment at any warp spire. This is useful for when you reach the daily collection limit for collecting Bug-Catching Insight by hand.
