Apparently, players are unhappy that it uses the TikTok remix version of the song Smoother Operator. The original song is a classic, which was sung by popular singer Sade Adu, and was released back in 1984. Currently, it has a whopping 178 million views on YouTube.

Fortnite Fans Hope That Smooth Operator Emote Gets an Original Version

It is crucial to note that this is not the first time fans have been unhappy about a remix song being added to the game. For instance, the release of the Caffeinated emote in Fortnite witnessed a similar response in the community. The emote featured the viral Sabrina Carpenter song, Espresso, but it was a sped-up variant. Many fans believed that the version was worse than the original, which led Fortnite to release a new variant of the Caffeinated emote.
