To celebrate the festive season, Black Ops 6 is running a nearly two week long Double XP event.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 a little under two months old, the pay-to-win allegations have begun to surface, with players claiming that certain skins are making it difficult for them to see what’s happening on the battlefield.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Accused Of Including Pay-To-Win Skins
Black Ops 6’s skins have already caused a bit of a ruckus. Treyarch shared that it wouldn’t carry over cosmetics from previous Call of Duty games to this one; it also added a weird shark and other monstrosities, and players found that one skin would cost $50 worth of COD points— all in the name of “fun”.
The latest controversy, however, stems from the fact that some skins can seemingly be used to obstruct the enemy’s vision on certain maps.
In a thread on the Black Ops 6 subreddit, user Sopiate shared an example of just how annoying these skins can be, saying they “genuinely couldn’t see s**t.”
On Stakeout, a notoriously small and fast-paced map, Sopiate spawned behind a giant pink and blue cloud that obstructed their vision into the next room. Mere milliseconds after spawning, they were shot dead, with an enemy hiding behind the clouds spraying through the doorway. The clouds were, of course, a result of said enemy’s skin choice, turning players into this cloud upon death and providing them with the perfect cover to keep the massacre going.
Sopiate’s thread was filled with players lamenting Activision and Treyarch’s choices, with Ilmdgklls saying, “I’m so f***ing sick of this. I can’t understand why people buy that s**t in the first place.”
Thankfully, it’s not all doom and gloom, with some players sharing the fact that these annoying kill animations can be hidden by one of the game’s settings. But that’s beside the point, and they shouldn’t have to do that in the first place.
Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
