There are all sorts of beings in anime, and the espers are no exception. While some of them use their powers to change the conditions of society, others wish they had not been born with it. Whatever their ideals might be, these characters are certainly interesting as you witness their character development as they overcome various struggles.
Not many of them had an easy life, and even a cute girl like Anya had a tragic past; however, there is no shortage of tragic espers in anime and Lucy, Lelouch, and Sabrina all lead lonelier lives. That said, having psychic powers made certain characters like Saiki Kusuo and Mob very hilarious.

Code Geass
Lelouch possesses the power of Geass, which lets him become a mind-controlling psychic. He sees these powers as a means to change the world he is born in, where his sister Nunnally suffered greatly.
He is an anti-hero character who has actions that also lead to the demise of his friends and family. Most of his actions appear evil, yet Lelouch seems to have a plan for the greater good of society. He can kill people by simply ordering them to die.

Tatsumaki
One-Punch Man
In an anime with many physically strong heroes, Tatsumaki is an esper who easily overpowers them. Her abilities lead her to secure the second rank among the S-class heroes. While she has a rude personality, she has shielded the city many times with her defense powers.
Her psychic powers allow her to hurl large rocks towards enemies. That’s not all, as she also possesses fast reflexes necessary to save countless lives in her job as a hero. Tatsumaki also seems to care deeply about her younger sister Fubuki, who also happens to be an esper. As an older and much stronger sister, Tatsumaki wants to protect her.

Sabrina
Pokemon: Indigo League
Sabrina is one of the strongest gym leaders shown in Pokemon: Indigo League and she specializes in mastering Psychic-type Pokemon. However, it appears that she possesses some powers that are a threat to others around her. She holds a mysterious doll, which seems to be her younger playful self.
Sabrina is the fifth gym leader Ash faces in the Pokemon anime.
Sabrina has a dollhouse where she keeps people who she has turned into dolls. However, deep down, she is just a lonely girl who just wants some real friends to have fun with her. Her Abra is hard to defeat as it can heal any damage dealt to it, and Ash only won by making her laugh.

Anya Forger
Spy X Family
Unlike most espers in anime, Anya Forger is an adorable little girl who likes to have fun with her mind reading abilities. While she is a playful child, Anya has also saved the day multiple times for Loid and Yor, as she can read the thoughts of enemies, which becomes crucial in foiling their plans.
Anya had a dark past that traumatized her a lot, which is also why she is constantly worried about her adoptive parents leaving her. She can’t exactly reveal her psychic powers to them due to the nature of their jobs, and this does become a huge responsibility for her to shoulder.

Saiki Kusuo
The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K.
While most people might think that having psychic powers might bring ease to their lives, Saiki Kuso thinks otherwise. Throughout the anime, we hear Saiki’s internal monologue about how everything is a pain around him, and how he can’t enjoy the normal life others have.
Saiki Kusuo can do multiple things with his powers, including teleportation, clairvoyance, reading minds, and pyrokinesis. He uses most of his abilities to help people around him, although he doesn’t seem to enjoy it very much. He also hates getting spoilers for the shows he loves and often complains that life with psychic powers is less exciting.

Mob
Mob Psycho 100
Mob is a humble psychic character and, despite having power, he never feels a shred of ego. On the contrary, he seems to lack confidence and has trouble voicing his opinions. Mob sometimes loses control of his psychic powers and he feels guilty if someone ends up being hurt. His psychic powers can eradicate even the toughest of ghosts.
Regen Arataka is Mob’s master who claims to have spiritual powers but is actually a sham character, who is using Mob for his powers.
Mob has a mindset of improving himself as a person, yet his emotions get the better of him at times, which also causes chaos in the final arc of the anime. His internal conflict is his driving force, and he wants to figure out things for himself.
