One Piece chapter 1134 was absolutely massive and it showcased quite a lot of exciting developments in the story. While the chapter had a lot to offer, from the Owl’s Library, all the way down to more information being provided on Prince Loki, the most exciting part of the chapter came at the very end, when black lightning struck a castle in the Western Elbaf Village, and two mysterious hooded individuals emerged out of it.

This was an extremely exciting part of the chapter, and one that blew away the minds of many fans. While one of these characters was revealed to be Shanks’s twin brother, the other character’s identity still remains unclear. This character could easily be Shanks’s sister.

It is safe to say that fans don’t have any idea as to who the bandaged character truly is. Oda has not revealed the answer to them just yet, and they will most definitely have to wait for the next few chapters to get a clear idea of who this person truly is. There isn’t much to go off of, which is why fans have thrown around many ideas, such as this character being Kuina, which is a hilarious idea, and some even suggesting that this character is from the Vinsmoke Family, which, once again, doesn’t make much sense. Of course, this doesn’t mean fans are not allowed to theorize, but, the theory needs to have something to stand on. One idea that certainly does make a certain amount of sense is that this person could be related to Shanks. After all, fans know that one of these two people is already related to him. In One Piece chapter 1134, Oda revealed Shanks’s twin to the fans. It is clear at this point that this person is Shanks’s brother. Whether they are actually twins or this person just looks like Shanks through some other means it remains unclear. But, that matters little. What is important is that this character is now going to be extremely important moving forward, and Oda’s message in Jump Festa 2025, where he mentioned that this certain someone is going to disturb the peace in Elbaf, makes him even more important.

At the same time, when one speaks of the other character, there is little to go off of at this point in time. But, the fact is that this certain woman is tagging along with Shanks’s brother. It is easily possible that she is his sister. After all, they are tagging along in pairs, and at the same time, they emerged from the same summoning circle. Perhaps, both of them are acting on the orders of their father, Saint Garling Figarland. After all, fans don’t know many individuals who can utilize the power of the summoning circle, other than the Five Elders, and Saint Garling certainly is one now. The fact that Saint Garling had a few children only adds more depth to the idea that this person could very well be Shanks’s sister.

St Garling Figarland was introduced to the fans in the Final Saga of One Piece. He was revealed to be an old individual, and a man known to be the Champion of God Valley. Then, in the Kuma flashback, fans got to see a section of the God Valley Incident play out, and Saint Garling was shown to be an identical copy of Shanks. The only difference between these two characters is that Garling wore different clothes and had a ridiculous hairstyle that resembled a crescent moon. Garling was on the island hunting natives for the Native Hunting Games. It appears that he was in the lead for this competition, and he brought his family to the island with him.

This is clear from the fact that Garling asked his children to observe him carefully in battle. It is unclear as to how many children Garling has. But, at the very least, fans can assume that there are two. One of them is Shanks, and fans know that clearly. The other one is quite clearly Shanks’s twin, which was first revealed in One Piece chapter 907, and has now been reintroduced in the story in chapter 1134. But, it is possible for Shanks to have yet another sibling, and this person could be his sister, or in other words, the same person who is tagging along Shanks’s twin to Elbaf.

What adds to this idea is the same statement of Garling where he asked his children to watch him carefully. The Native Hunting Games took place 38 years ago. It must be remembered that at this point in time, Shanks must have been younger than a year, and still a baby. Shanks being a baby meant that he couldn’t understand anything said to him and likely couldn’t even observe the games. In fact, it even calls into question whether Shanks truly was near the battlefield or not. Given that he was a baby who couldn’t even stand, Shanks was likely someplace else under the watch of a caretaker.
This then leads one to wonder about who Garling was referring to when he was talking to his children. Clearly, if Shanks is taken out of the equation, there must be at least another child other than Shanks’s twin. This child could potentially be Shanks’s sister who was revealed in One Piece chapter 1134. Of course, there is nothing much to go off of here other than Garling’s words. But, it certainly is a very intriguing idea, to say the least.
How Would Shanks Having A Sister Affect The Plot?
The Figarland Family Would Grow Even More Interesting
Shanks having a sister would certainly make Elbaf even more exciting. It would, at the very least, give fans two very powerful villains for this Arc. Fans already know that Garling is a monstrously powerful individual and this is something that Oda hyped up in the story himself. Shanks is a monster, as fans know already, and his twin is going to be tremendously powerful. If this woman turns out to be Shanks’s sister, she would then be one of the strongest women in One Piece, given that she is from the same family as that of Saint Garling. Furthermore, it would add a new layer to the dynamic of the Figarland family. Shanks is quite clearly aware of his lineage, but his connection to the Figarland family isn’t clear.
While Garling certainly appears to be evil, the exact nature of this potential sister remains unknown. Oda can play around with this idea in many ways, and it certainly is a very exciting one to say the least. But, it must also be acknowledged that this woman could be any other Celestial Dragon, especially because about nine of the families are still unknown to the fans. It would also be a good decision for Oda to make this woman a representative of the unknown families of the Celestial Dragons, and that would certainly add more depth to the story as well.
