A Stardew Valley Xbox patch that dropped on the morning of December 25 has fixed several issues, the game’s lead developer, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, announced in a Twitter post. Game-crashing bugs that were connected to the divorce mechanic and Stardew Valley‘s Raccoon Shop, an update 1.6 addition, were among the issues that were addressed, according to the developer. The new fixes, which have also been applied to PlayStation systems, should come to the Nintendo Switch version of the game soon, Barone said.
December 2024 Emergency Update for Stardew Valley Fixes Crashing Issues
Another emergency update for Stardew Valley was pushed out last month after a mobile patch started to cause crashes. ConcernedApe previously explained that PC players received updates first as this allowed for issues to be resolved before the patches could be submitted to the other platforms that required longer verification processes. Barone also admitted to encountering technical issues with porting the popular farm life simulator to consoles.
The latest update for Stardew Valley, 1.6.15, recently went live on PC and mobile. It addressed a long list of bugs, such as one that prevented some achievements from being unlocked, as well as another that caused Krobus’ shop to become inaccessible to Japanese players. Update 1.6.15 also delivered quality-of-life improvements and buffed the parameters of ponds that contain Legendary-class fish.
ConcernedApe assured Stardew Valley players in the past that he would deal with update 1.6’s bugs and issues before moving on to his highly anticipated next project, Haunted Chocolatier. While early artwork of the upcoming title indicated that it was similar in style to Stardew Valley, Barone noted that Haunted Chocolatier would use a different engine. The developer previously mentioned that he has a yet-to-be announced game that was described as a collaborative work.
