  • Player 001 takes drastic measures
  • Tie in voting leads to brutal brawl

The second season of Squid Game is slowly coming to an end, and things are getting out of hand now. The games are getting more difficult, making everyone nervous about what will happen next. Even though the first game was pretty familiar to the audiences, the rest of the games offered a new perspective to the game. Moreover, this season is heavily reliant on how players gel with each other. By now, it is already established that there is a clear distinction between the players who want the games to continue and those who don’t. Interestingly, many players change their minds whenever a game concludes, and during the voting, the number keeps on changing. However, the “Os” keep on winning and the competition continues to advance.

In the ending moments of Episode 5, viewers saw a new game being played in which players have to stand on a giant, revolving circle that will move as soon as the music hits. By the end of the game, the players who survive will continue in the competition. Here’s what happened in the penultimate episode of Squid Game season 2.

To advance in the competition, players must rely on the support and collaboration of others, making teamwork and trust essential components of their strategy. The players are in a big arena with 50 rooms attached to it, and all the players are standing above a giant, revolving circle in the middle of the area. As soon as the music stops and the revolving circle stops, the announcer will tell the players a number, and the players will have to form a team with that number of players and enter a room. For example, if the music stops and the announcer says “five,” then players will have to form a team of five and enter a room before the clock stops ticking. At the end of each round, the announcer would say an “x”, and the players would have to follow the rules to win the game.

At the end of the first round, players have to form teams of five members and enter the room. Those who were left behind were brutally killed by the guards. Seong Gi-hun, aka Player 456, and Player 011 develop a strategy on how to win the game. Both the players, along with Jung-bae (Player 390), Dae-ho (Player 388), and Player 222 (Jun-hee) keep on helping each other, and certain other players to survive the game. With each passing round, the number keeps on decreasing. The number of players in the competition by the last round has come down to 126. Player 001 explains to Gi-hun and his close companions that the final round is likely to accommodate only “2 players” per room. He deduces this based on the fact that there are 126 remaining players, while the total number of rooms available is just 50. Interestingly, it comes out to be true, as the organizers eventually announced that the last round will indeed have two players assigned to each room, confirming Player 001’s prediction.

This is the round where players go against each other and try to survive. Player 001 and Jung-bae run with each other to a yellow-colored room. They somehow enter the room, but soon find out that there is someone present there, which could have posed a problem for them. The announcer categorically said that they wanted only two players inside the room. If they saw three, all three players would be eliminated. As a result, Player 001 takes the matter into his own hands and kills the other player, making Jung-bae realize that Player 001 is ready to do anything and everything to win the game.

The game ends with only 100 players remaining in the competition.

Did Jun-ho and the team find an entrance to the mysterious island?

Jun-ho, Woo-seak, and the remaining members of their team are continuously trying to find the mysterious island. Now, they are taking the help of a drone to scan the island. Fortunately, they get a lead when the drone finds a door in the middle of an island. Jun-ho and every member of the team get down to the island and try opening the door. However, as soon as two of the team members open the door, a hidden bomb detonates with a deafening blast, instantly killing one of them and leaving the other in a state of shock and panic amidst the chaos.

However, they decided to continue the search and begin their operation the next day.

The voting ends in a tie and a brawl takes place

After the conclusion of the game, the “Xs” and “Os” hold a meeting and decide what they need to do during the next voting. Jung-bae thinks Player 001 might change his decision after what he did in that room. However, the voting ends in a tie again, with Player 001 pressing the “X” button. Now, the voting will take place again, and it will be decided if the games will continue or not. If the games don’t move ahead, each player will go out receiving 356 million WON, respectively. However, things go wrong when a brawl takes place between the”Xs” and “Os” in the bathroom. Thanos and Myung-gi begin the fight, and they call their respective team members to join in and finish this.

The fight gets hideous as they brutally fight against each other and Thanos is close to killing Myung-gi. The episode ends with Thanos’ hands around Myung-gi’s neck as the entire bathroom gets filled with blood.

This brawl will change the outlook of the upcoming voting. However, it’s yet to be seen which side loses the most of amount of members. Things are getting really, really intense, and with only one episode remaining, the stakes have never been higher, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats as they await the showdown to determine which side will ultimately prevail.
