The Pokemon may not be official, but the attention to detail from its creator and their efforts to make it seem like a plausible addition to the series left a lot of fans impressed.
Introduced in the fourth generation with Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, the legendary Titans are legendary Pokemon created to protect the various regions from apocalyptic events or cataclysms and take on a multitude of forms. The original, Regigigas, is a Normal-type Pokemon who, according to the series’ lore, created the rest out of magma, rock, ice, steel, and later, dragon and electric energy, each of which took on types according to their origins.

Pokemon Fan’s New “Regi” Variant Leaves Fans Pining For More
Some fans lamented the fact that the franchise heads at The Pokemon Company don’t take cues from fan designs or input from the community when designing new creatures for each respective game. Others simply praised the design for its attention to detail along with its name, which serves as a play on the word “vegetable,” making it into a pun utilizing the usual name scheme for the legendary Titans.
Of course, the fan design is not the only time a new legendary Titan has emerged within the franchise, as Pokemon Sword and Shield introduced Regidrago and Regieleki, Dragon and Electric-type Regis that served a similar purpose to the rest. The new additions proved popular and showed a demand for more variations of the giant Pokemon, though the newest games did not introduce any new ones.
With the successor to the Nintendo Switch on the horizon, though, and new Pokemon games likely to come along with it eventually, there is still plenty of room for the franchise to grow. It is impossible to know if new games will see more variants of the legendary Pokemon in the future, so fans will have to wait and see what comes with the newest entries in the series.
