Fans of Starry Studios’ post-apocalyptic survival game Once Human have new weekly rewards to claim. The open-world multiplayer shooter was released in July 2024 and, despite steadily declining numbers, Once Human still enjoys a large player base and a Mostly Positive rating on Steam.
The game’s success has led the developer to begin expanding to other platforms, and the mobile version of Once Human is expected to launch sometime in April 2025. Eager fans who don’t want to miss the date can pre-register so that it will auto-install when available. In the meantime, however, Starry Studios is keeping on top of the Steam version of Once Human, with regular updates and lots of free goodies.

Here’s a list of some of the best builds can use in Once Human, including all the important gear and mods needed for them.
During the week beginning on December 23, Once Human players can grab a free gift of 500 Starchrom, Metallic-Scaled Gauntlets, and two Butterfly’s Emissary Crates. Those interested need to be signed up for a scenario in order to collect, but the free Starchrom available through Once Human’s recently launched Starchrom system, Stellar Stairway, is available even for players who haven’t yet picked a new scenario. Through December 31, players will net 36,000 free Starchrom just for logging in and will earn an additional 3,000 per day for seven days as a log-in reward.
Once Human Version 1.3.4 Released on Christmas Day
Starry Studios also released Version 1.3.4 of the game on Christmas Day to address a number of bugs players have been dealing with, including an issue in Once Human that was affecting the Wish Machine’s blueprint fragments. One important addition that was requested by fans was the ability to recall lost animals to the Backpack, and a number of small glitches with the plumbing in player bases, such as pipes and wires displaying accidentally, were also fixed.
Once Human launched its first DLC purchasable via the Steam Store on December 20 with the Double Agent Theme Pack, which retails for $24.99. For that price, players will receive the Twilight Agent outfit, a formula to craft a retro-looking chandelier, a decal, and a pose. The fan base has been pretty vocal since launch about the high prices of loot boxes and cosmetics in Once Human, and though the developer has heeded community feedback about bugs and gameplay mechanics, it doesn’t seem ready to reduce costs any time soon. It is, of course, possible to play the game without spending any money. It can be tough to resist, though, given the constant flow of new outfits and base decorations that have recently been winter themed due to the holiday season Once Human’s Way of Winter scenario that first launched in October.
