Squall Leonhart is a protagonist who doesn’t give the greatest first impression with his aloof nature. It’s only later on that his vulnerabilities come to light, letting players empathize with his struggles as he comes to terms with his responsibilities as a leader and friend.
Technically, everyone in Final Fantasy 8 qualifies here because of how broken the Junction system is. However, it’s only when players use 100 units of a powerful spell to buff Squall’s strength and unleash the patented Lion Heart Limit Break that they’ll see just how overpowered this character is with a single cast of Aura. Unlike other party members, players can also time a trigger press to increase the damage of his regular attack every time, which is something fans should master to make him a reliable damage dealer in combat.
