If you’ve played Strinova for even a bit, you’ll quickly realize that it’s quite a fast-paced game where you can get knocked out of the round quickly if you’re not careful. This is especially true when you’re playing a sniping character like Kanami, since you can easily be dominated if you’re not careful.

On the other hand, if you learn how to use this character properly, you can also dominate the enemy without even giving them a chance to shoot at you. Of course, as a sniping character, your aim will play a big role in the game’s outcome.
Kanami Overview And Abilities, Explained
The most interesting thing about Kanami is that she can only be used on the attacking side, which means that you can’t use her utilities and long-range to suppress enemies on defense. However, since you have to be aggressive on the attacking side, your positioning as a sniper becomes even more important.
Kanami has a single-shot sniper as her primary weapon and here’s what her abilities do:
Echo Chamber |
Loads a special shot in the sniper rifle that you can shoot on any wall. When the projectile hits a wall, it’ll get stuck there and reveal any enemies in its area every few seconds. The enemies can also destroy this projectile. |

Showtime (Ultimate) |
This ability allows you to place a shadow of Kanami at a certain location, which will slowly pull in enemies and reduce their speed and accuracy. |
Echo Reveal |
Whenever you shoot as Kanami, the impact location of the shot creates a small pink area, and enemies in this area are revealed. |
Best Kanami Loadout
As you might already know, you can’t change the main weapon for your superstring, but you can equip a secondary weapon and two tactical items of your choice. For Kanami, Stinger is the best secondary weapon for most people since it’ll help you defeat enemies that come close to you.
You can also use Athena if your aim is good since this gun can easily destroy enemies.
When it comes to tactical items, Kanami can get the most use out of Tattletale and Windstorm Grenade for the following reasons:
- Tattletale can be placed on flanks and prevent enemies from ambushing Kanami from behind. This is important since you’re likely going to lose a close-range battle.
- Windstorm Grenade can be used to bring out enemies hiding behind cover and waiting for Kanami to get close. This can also give you a chance to escape in case someone still manages to ambush you.
Apart from your loadout before the game starts, you also have multiple buffs to buy during the game that can easily change how much value you get from Kanami. Ideally, you’d want to have light regen armor on her since you can easily hide before you take significant damage. The lower cooldown for her Echo Chamber is also the best buff to get.
As for the Awaken abilities, you’ll get more value from Melodic Boost as this will buff all your teammates, but you can use Echo Shock if your team isn’t playing together properly. It’s also important to get reload speed in the capacity section since Kanami has quite a long reload time without it.
While the rest of the buffs are your choice, you can get slightly more value from rechambering speed, stringified damage, and sprint speed.
Tips To Play Kanami
Apart from the basic things mentioned above, here are a few tips that you can keep in mind to have the odds in your favor for each match:
- The most important thing you need to remember is that Kanami isn’t the greatest on every map. Various maps incentivize close-range combat for attackers, and it might be better to choose a different character in these.
- While you wouldn’t want to be in front of your team leading the charge, you also wouldn’t want to be too far behind as this will only make you an easy target to eliminate.
- Use your Echo Chamber as much as you can. This is one of the best enemy-revealing ability in the game, and it can give your team substantial information and even some boosts with the specific awaken ability.
- Having a good aim is vital while playing Kanami since you wouldn’t be of much use if you’re missing all your shots even if you’re using all her abilities.
