Players around the world have been enjoying Pocketpair’s Palworld since the creature capture underdog launched in January 2024, and it’s continued to deliver plenty of dynamic and exciting content for its devoted community. The biggest and most ambitious example of that so far is its Feybreak DLC, which introduced a massive new island full of diverse and colorful biomes and plenty of new crafting materials along with it. Plenty of them can be found out in the open during exploration while others can be tricky to find without knowing how.
One of those tricky crafting materials is Nightstar Sand, which you won’t find sitting around in broad daylight. If you’re having difficulty finding this resource in Palworld, it turns out that you only need to look at its namesake to find the answer.

How to Get Nightstar Sand in Palworld
As its name suggests, Nightstar Sand is a crafting material in Palworld that you can only find during nighttime hours, so you’ll need to wait for the sun to set on Palpagos before setting out to gather it. Also, it can only be found in two areas on the entire map – Feybreak and Sand Dunes. If it’s been a while since you stepped foot there, Sand Dunes is the huge desert island furthest to the northeast, where the Tower Boss Marcus lies in wait with his bird sidekick, Faleris. Meanwhile, getting to Feybreak Island requires travel from the southern coast of Mount Obsidian.
However, collecting Nightstar Sand is arguably easier on Feybreak Island. There are far more dense groups of nodes scattered across the island’s multiple coastlines all the way around, meaning you don’t need to venture inland much at all to find it. Also, since it only appears during night hours, you can safely gather as much Nightstar Sand as you need while most Pals are asleep. The one caveat is the anti-aircraft towers found in multiple areas of Feybreak that inhibit using any flying Pals until they’re destroyed.
To find the Nightstar Sand nodes themselves, once you’re in a beach area at night, look for patches of sand that appear to be glowing. Each of these is a node, and all you have to do is approach one and interact to gather the Nightstar Sand from it. Once you have, the node will vanish, and you can move on to the next one. They will remain accessible until the sun rises and daytime begins, at which point you’ll need to wait until the following night to gather more.
If you find yourself needing a lot of Nightstar Sand for your crafting endeavors back at one of your bases, remember that you can always adjust the duration of both daytime and nighttime hours via your World Settings in the Main Menu. That can give you substantially more time to navigate each hotspot and acquire as much as possible in one trip. Nightstar Sand also only weighs 1.0 each, so if you have a hefty carrying capacity you can bring plenty of it back to your base for use.
Multiple major node groups of Nightstar Sand can be found in the following areas on Feybreak Island, which have been listed by both name and coordinates. These nodes will respawn daily, so you can visit them as often as needed.

How to Use Nightstar Sand in Palworld
Nightstar Sand can be used to craft a variety of high-grade items for your character in Palworld, including powerful weapons, tools, and boot accessories. Certain items will require dozens of this crafting material, so be sure to stock up accordingly and have the appropriate machinery available to construct all of the recipe materials and items you need. For instance, you’ll need the Gigantic Furnace to create things such as Hexolite ingots, which go into many of the recipes that Nightstar Sand does as well.
