Usually, in a live-service shooter, the new players automatically have a huge target placed on their back. But Helldivers 2 is all about banding together with your fellow Super Earth patriots to spread liberty and democracy, and so the community is calling on one another to help these Christmas noobs settle into the game instead.

SnooRecipes7586 took to Reddit yesterday and suggested that veteran Helldivers lower their difficulty to help out, and their post quickly hit the top of the subreddit with over 7,000 upvotes.
Others, however, suggest waiting for an SOS so that you don’t ruin that meat grinder experience for newcomers. After all, flailing about and screaming is half the fun in the early days.
That being said, there is another way to help them while you wait for the call.
As suggested by several commenters, you can always fire a bunch of overpowered Stratagems down their chimneys. Nothing says Christmas like a mech suit to carve up a Terminid like it’s a turkey dinner.
“I’ve been playing a game called ‘Super Claus’ where I drop into a mission and drop mechs, FRV and other goodies then drop out,” Legitimate-Egg5851 commented.
“Better idea. Join new player lobby with several new players, drop them in a jeep or mech, leave,” TheLegendNut said. “Rinse and repeat”.

“I’m Freedom Claus and I’ve been giving away late game vehicles and weapons to all recruits between difficulties 1 to 3,” Time-Yoghurt7831 added.
So, instead of trolling the Christmas noobs or getting mad at them for not knowing the ropes, hop in a lower difficulty lobby and give them some new toys to play around with. We’re gonna need all the help we can get with the Illuminate back.
