A Reddit user named Krimsel has shared an interesting post on the Genshin Impact subreddit, pointing out a detail about the recent Xiangling announcement. The post features official promotional art of Genshin Impact‘s Xiangling in her new outfit, where she appears to be missing an eyelash on her left eye. The post received a lot of attention in the community, with many fans jokingly criticizing Krimsel, claiming that it’s now hard to unsee this detail. Even though there has been some speculation about whether this is an actual error in the whole design or just in the special artwork, many fans have confirmed that Xiangling is not missing any eyelashes in all the other promotional material.
Genshin Impact Fan Notices Unusual Detail About Xiangling’s Official Art
A few comments suspect that something probably went wrong in the animation process, likely a layering error, as the artists probably used Xiangling’s regular model as a base, which is where the inaccurate eye design comes from. Many fans claim that they don’t mind this error and wouldn’t mind if Xiangling’s skin launched with that detail. Genshin Impact‘s Special Program event has confirmed that players will be able to get the skin for this four-star character for free in Version 5.3.
In order to get the skin, they will likely have to complete a few limited-time tasks before collecting rewards that will include this outfit. Even though players have been asking for more cosmetics over the years, HoYoverse continues to follow its pattern of releasing skins around the game’s two major annual events: the Genshin Impact Summer event and the Lantern Rite.
Xiangling won’t be the only character to receive a skin, as HoYoverse confirmed that Genshin Impact Pyro user Hu Tao will also get a new outfit. Unlike the Xiangling skin, Hu Tao’s new costume is expected to be available only through the in-game shop. If HoYoverse continues its previous pattern of skin releases, Hu Tao’s outfit will be offered at a discounted price for the duration of the update.
