JJK’s final volume had a 16-page epilogue included, and that was certainly exciting for the fans to see.

Yuji is hinted to end with a certain girl in JJK’s epilogue. Here’s who.
Finally, fans had new content to look forward to, and even though this epilogue was quite short, especially when considering the fact that it covered multiple mini epilogues of various characters, fans certainly did get exciting bits of information confirmed here and there. Quite easily, the most shocking part of the chapter came with Panda’s epilogue, where it was confirmed that the story had a massive time skip.
How Gege Skipped 62 Years In JJK
- Panda’s Epilogue Skips Time In JJK
- Fans saw Yuta’s Grandchildren
JJK’s epilogue chapter opened up with Ozawa’s story. In this part of the chapter, fans got to see Ozawa and Yuji reunite, and then rekindle their old friendship. Of course, for Ozawa, this was still a moment to get closer to Yuji and possibly build up a relationship, but, any relationship they developed was not shown by Gege in the story.

Following Ozawa’s epilogue, fans got to see Panda, and this is where one of the biggest shocks in JJK was delivered to them. Panda’s epilogue showcased a storage unit of the Gojo family. There, fans got to see some kids playing around. Eventually, they came across the Panda doll, and this is where it was revealed that this was the same Panda that fans knew from early JJK. Of course, 2018’s Culling Game was where a massive blow was dealt to him, rendering his two cores unusable, and greatly nerfing him in battle. It was then revealed that by the year 2035, Panda had effectively stopped working.
To what degree Panda stopped working was not made clear to the fans. It is possible that Panda stopped working as a sorcerer, and that he could not effectively fight anymore, which is why he was deemed surplus to requirements and effectively shut down completely in the year 2035.
No other events from the year 2035 were revealed to the fans, unfortunately. But, this was already a 17-year time skip in the story. While fans were already surprised at JJK skipping 17 years into the story, they were even more shocked when it was revealed that this particular epilogue of Panda was set in the year 2080.
Panda soon started moving again in the year 2080, and it was confirmed that he had been kept in the storage facility of the Gojo family. Every now and then, Panda found it in him to move and talk once again. However, whether he completely shuts down at certain moments or not remains unclear.
Yuta And Maki’s Legacy After 62 Years
Yuta and Maki Have Grandkids
While the 62-year timeskip of JJK was shocking in itself, what was even more surprising to the fans was the fact that the children seen in the epilogue were actually grandchildren of none other than Yuta. It was revealed that Yuta was the acting head of the Gojo family, and by the time Panda stopped functioning, that is, year 2035, Yuta was already the acting head. It was because of him that Panda was allowed to stay in the facility of the Gojo family, and Yuta personally took care of him, putting him together with his other treasures, such as his many swords.

Upon Yuta’s grandchildren playing around with Panda, the cursed corpse finally woke up and did not seem pleased with their personality. This is where it was made clear to the fans that despite the cursed corpse being deemed inefficient, Panda still functions at some times.
It was through Panda that fans found out the two children were Yuta’s grandchildren, but unfortunately, Yuta himself was not seen. As far as the grandchildren go, Yuta was revealed to have an older male grandchild and a younger female grandchild. The female grandchild looks exactly like Yuta, and it is clear that she has taken after him more than her brother. She also seems to be carrying a ring around her neck, which fans know belongs to Yuta. Whether Rika can still be summoned using this ring or not remains to be seen, but, the implication here is that Rika is the protector of the family at this point in time.

Nobara gets her own segment in JJK’s epilogue. Her family is revealed.
Meanwhile, the other grandchild looked incredibly similar to Maki in terms of appearance. The Zenin genes were very easy to spot for the fans here, and his resemblance to both Megumi and Maki was uncanny. The author did not officially state Yuta and Maki have dated, but, at this point, he does not need to. It is quite apparent that both Yuta and Maki ended up together in JJK, and then had kids. Unfortunately, their kids were not revealed to the fans, but the grandkids certainly were, and it added a new exciting flavor to the ending of the story.
What Happened To The Other Sorcerers?
The Fate Of The Others Remains Unknown
The only people that fans knew the confirmed fate of in the year 2080 were Yuta, Maki, and of course, Panda. To be precise, whether Maki was alive around the year 2080 or not remains unknown. That said, the fact that she has a Heavenly Restriction and a body that is far beyond human levels certainly does imply that she is alive and at least did not die of any natural cause. Other than these two, Panda’s fate was revealed, and as mentioned earlier, he continues to stay in the facility of the Gojo family.
Are you really Yuta’s grandchildren? – Panda
Unfortunately, the fate of any other character was not revealed to the fans in the year 2080. There is absolutely no hint from the author in regards to their eventual fates, but, fans can only hope that they got to live a fulfilling life and received a proper ending that they deserved. Hopefully, if JJK ever continues, fans can potentially get another look 62 years into the future, and then, the fates of other characters could also be confirmed. Fans would be extremely interested in knowing what happened to Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi, given that these were the three most important characters.
For now, fans simply have to be happy with the fact that Yuta and Maki ended up together, and 62 years later, they have a new family that will go on to carry their legacy forever. This was certainly a touching addition to the story, and it was equally balanced by Panda’s tasteless and rather tragic ending. Fans can only hope that Gege gives them another one-shot at some point later down the line and adds to the already exciting ending of JJK.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Epilogue was released with its Final Volume. JJK’s Final volume is out in Japan on December 25, 2024. The English version of the Volume will be published at some point in 2025.
