Sukuna and Uraume’s past is revealed in the epilogue. Here’s what fans know now in JJK.
In fact, it can be said that Nobara’s epilogue was quite easily one of the better ones, and fans certainly did enjoy the direction that JJK took with it. Much to the surprise of the readers, this epilogue focused not on her life as a sorcerer, but on her family, which fans were introduced to for the very first time here.
Gojo’s Last Letter To Nobara Was The Trigger For The Meeting
- Gojo gave Nobara her mother’s address
- Nobara honored Gojo’s wishes
During the Jump Festa stage of JJK, it was revealed to the fans that the series would be getting a 16-page epilogue to add to the already-established ending with the release of the final volume of the story. This was a reason for excitement among the fans, and it was also revealed on the same stage that this epilogue was going to be focusing on the characters of Ozawa, Panda, Uraume, and finally, Nobara. Given that Nobara was cut out of the story for its vast majority, this epilogue focusing on her was certainly a nice touch by the author. Of course, it did not undo all the terrible character writing for Nobara, but it was certainly a step in the right direction.
I really do not like you at all, mother. – Nobara
Coming over to the epilogue itself, this particular chapter tied directly into the one where Gojo’s letter to Nobara was revealed. As fans might remember, Gojo left a letter for both Nobara and Megumi. Meanwhile, he had a personal talk with Yuji, where he entrusted his own dream to him. As far as Nobara’s letter goes, Gojo essentially gave her the address and information on her own mother, possibly wanting to seek her out. This was, in Gojo’s own way, looking out for Nobara. Gojo knew that there was a possibility that he would go on to die in this battle, and if that would have to happen, he wanted Nobara to have a family.
For Nobara, disrespecting the dead is certainly not something that she can live with. And that is precisely why she ended up honoring Gojo’s wishes and sought out her mother. In JJK’s epilogue chapter, Nobara was seen meeting with her mother for the very first time in the story, and it was certainly a shocking meeting, to say the least.
Nobara’s Mom And Grandma Is Finally Introduced In JJK
Nobara’s Mother Was Revealed To Be A Horrible Parent
JJK’s epilogue saw Nobara meet her mother, and this meeting takes place a few weeks or months after the conclusion of the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. It isn’t clear as to how much time has passed since, but the fact that Nobara wanted to honor the wishes of Gojo means that, at the very least, it has not been years. For Nobara, the goal was simply to fulfill Gojo’s wishes and not seek any personal relationship with her mother. Despite that, she tried to have a normal conversation with her mom. Clearly, Nobara’s mother is a strange individual. Fans were quick to dislike her, and that is largely down to her personality. Nobara’s mother did not seem even a tiny bit worried about her own daughter. She was actually envious of the fact that Nobara was a skilled sorcerer, while she herself was a failed one. This envy for her own daughter stemmed from the fact that her mother paid more attention to Nobara than her. Much to the amusement of the fans, Nobara clearly pointed out to her that the only talent her mother was lacking was that of a parent.
Did you come out here thinking I would have sympathy for you? Well, too bad, I’ve not changed one bit. – Nobara’s mother
Gege took his time to highlight how terrible Nobara’s mother was in this epilogue. Whereas parents go out of their way to ensure their children are doing well, Nobara’s mother absolutely did not care. In fact, she was incredibly unapologetic towards Nobara as well, despite having ruined her childhood to a certain degree. She went on to say that she is not going to apologize for anything because she has not changed over the years at all. She is still the same person who did not care about Nobara back when she was a child, and she still lives her life the way she wants, that is, partying, going after rich guys and hanging out with younger men, among much else. Nobara’s mom was revealed to be a despicable person because she did not care about her own daughter at all, and was actually shown bearing feelings of envy and jealousy towards her.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Teases Who Yuji Ends Up With
Yuji is hinted to end with a certain girl in JJK’s epilogue. Here’s who.
Nobara made it clear to her mom that she did not come seeking sympathy, and she did not expect an apology either. Clearly, Nobara cannot stand her mother, and the only reason she was there was to honor Gojo’s wishes. This, in a way, draws a parallel between Gojo and Nobara’s mother. While her own mother did not care about her at all, Gojo looked out for her even when she was presumably dead and he was moments away from fighting his biggest fight ever. Nobara did not have a normal mother, but what she got was a loving teacher who looked out for her all the time. Nobara recognizes this, which is why she ends up honoring Gojo’s wishes.
While this epilogue was certainly looking bad for Nobara at first, the script was completely flipped when Nobara revealed that her grandmother was actually present as well. Knowing that Nobara’s mother was absolutely terrified of her own mom, this epilogue ended on a rather funny note, where Nobara was delightfully watching their meeting.
Was Nobara’s Epilogue Good?
Nobara’s Epilogue Was Lacking Any Real Substance
Nobara’s epilogue was a hit-and-miss for the fans. While there is absolutely no denying the fact that Nobara fulfilled Gojo’s wishes, what fans certainly did enjoy, what was clearly dislikable was the fact that Nobara’s mother was never brought up in the original series or even hinted at. Of course, Nobara did not care about her at all, but, even a small hint about Nobara’s hatred towards her, or the kind of sour relationship they shared in the original story would have added a certain amount of depth to it. This entire epilogue about Nobara seems to be a bit too forced and certainly did not move fans the way that the author would have intended.
That said, the fact that she did this for Gojo in itself was quite a sweet touch to the story and added a new depth to Gojo’s relationship with her, at the very least. That is something that fans can be glad about.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Epilogue was released with its Final Volume. JJK’s Final volume is out in Japan on December 25, 2024. The English version of the Volume will be published at some point in 2025.
