Summary
- Baldur’s Gate 3 modders have reimagined Withers as a less dead, hot goth boy.
- The aptly titled Less Dead Withers comes in four versions: Loincloth, Hood Down, Hood Up, and Mask.
- Commenters note that it’s compatible with Trade with Withers, another popular community addon.
I know — “Made Withers Hot” — you’re angrily thinking, ‘He is hot! I wanna bone the skeleton!’ Sure, we all have our types, and for some, that’s decaying, mummified corpses. But what if Withers was… hot. Like, swoopy haired goth boy hot.
That’s what Baldur’s Gate 3 modder Lyniara has imagined with their aptly titled “Less Dead Withers” mod. Gone is the dusty old skeleton, now Jergal is cute and pale with rough grey hair, a grim reaper mouth bleeding out from under their flesh, and smudged black eye shadow.
“What if Withers didn’t skimp on the embalming products,” the description reads. “Withers now has a rehydrated face (it literally is his face, but more filled out and less wrinkly!) with a bonus nose and hair, skin without wrinkles and new old clothes!”
The Mod Comes In Four Styles
There are four versions of Less Dead Withers to choose from — Loincloth for those who want to stare at his undead pecs, Hood Down if you want him in his robes but with the swoopy hair still visible, Hood Up if you want the more gothic look, and Mask if you want him to be a little more mysterious.

If this were a petition it might be official by now.
As many commenters point out, the mod is compatible with the popular Trade with Withers addon (they placed Less Dead at the end of their load order, below the Trade mod). However, to use Lyniara’s addon, you will need the script extender, and they recommend using the Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Manager, not Vortex.
However, if the mod isn’t up your street and you prefer your Withers old, mummufied, and skeletal, there’s another pretty good addon from ghouls0rules you can try that reworks him to look more like his concept art. Now you can’t be mad I suggested hot goth Withers, right?
Baldur’s Gate 3 is the long-awaited next chapter in the Dungeons & Dragons-based series of RPGs. Developed by Divinity creator Larian Studios, it puts you in the middle of a mind flayer invasion of Faerûn, over a century after the events of its predecessor.
