Marvel Rivals is designed with a strong competitive focus, motivating players to strive for victory in every match. This is where the Competitive playlist truly shines, as every player brings their best to each game, making those standout moments even more rewarding.
Recently, Marvel Rivals introduced a surrender feature, allowing you to avoid wasting time in a match that you might be on the verge of losing. However, before you choose to surrender, take a moment to think it through and read this article first.
Personally, I do not recommend surrendering any match, no matter how dire the situation seems.
Time and again, I’ve been in matches where victory seemed impossible, yet my team managed to pull off a win. On the flip side, I’ve experienced matches where we were leading, only for the enemy team to stage an incredible comeback and take the win.
How To Surrender A Match
During competitive matches, things can get intense, with both teams doing their best to secure a win, accumulate points, and climb the ranks.
However, there are times when it feels inevitable that the enemy team is simply stronger, and someone on your team might think, “I’d rather take the loss quickly and move on to the next match.” This is where the surrender feature comes in.
In competitive matches, if you open the pause menu, you’ll notice an additional option labeled “Surrender.”
Selecting this option will initiate a vote, notifying all your teammates that you’ve started the surrender process. Each teammate will then cast a vote to either accept or reject the surrender.
The outcome of the vote determines the match’s fate.
If the majority agrees to surrender, the match ends immediately and counts as a loss for your team. If the majority votes against surrendering, the match will continue until it concludes naturally.
A few things to note:
- You cannot initiate a Surrender vote during the first round of the match.
- You can only initiate one Surrender vote per round per person. If you fail to gather enough votes, you will not be able to initiate another Surrender vote until the next match.
When To Surrender A Match
This feature has sparked mixed opinions among players. Some see it as a practical way to wrap up unwinnable matches quickly, saving time and energy. Others view it as a lazy way out, arguing that teams should fight until the end regardless of the odds.
Ultimately, it’s up to you and your team to decide when to use the surrender option. It can be a helpful tool in certain situations, but it should be used thoughtfully to ensure it aligns with your team’s goals and mindset.
So, before you surrender, take a moment to consider the potential outcome. Sometimes perseverance pays off in ways you didn’t expect!
