Summary

  • Fuse and Ultrahand abilities in Tears of the Kingdom offer creative freedom.
  • Players can create an electric fence by fusing metal structures and electrifying them.
  • Tears of the Kingdom boasts engaging gameplay with new mechanics and abilities.

A Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has come up with a creative way to take down enemies without wasting resources by creating a lethal electric fence. Tears of the Kingdom has a riveting main storyline and engaging side quests, both of which will keep players entertained for hours. As if this wasn’t enough, the Breath of the Wild sequel also introduced gamers to fun mechanics and abilities that add almost endless replay value to the game for those who enjoy making and testing out their own gadgets.

In Breath of the Wild, the Sheikah Slate granted Link runes, such as Remote Bombs, Cryonis, Magnesis, and Stasis. The abilities in Tears of the Kingdom made most of the runes obsolete and replaced them entirely. In the sequel, gamers got to solve puzzles, explore the world, and take down enemies with the help of Recall, Ascend, Ultrahand, and Fuse, which allowed gamers who had already explored every nook and cranny of Breath of the Wild to return to Hyrule and get lost in it once again.

The Fuse and Ultrahand abilities are the two abilities that give players the most freedom to create. While Fuse focuses on making creative weapons, ammo, and shields, Ultrahand makes it possible to grab items from the environment and glue them together. With the former, gamers can boost their tools with offensive and defensive abilities and stats; the latter is great for any sort of contraption, whether it’s silly or serious. Reddit user scalhoun03 shared a clip that captured a moment where they had used Ultrahand to put together metal walls to build a room, perfect for conducting electricity and making a monster death trap.

How to Make an Electric Fence in Tears of the Kingdom

  • Fuse metal structures together to create a room and then electrify the walls using electric items or arrows

In the video, it appears that they managed to trap about eight Bokoblins and a Hinox in the metal room – a tough fight for Link alone to endure. Then, they shoot an electric arrow to electrify the room and start inflicting major damage on the enemies inside, who are unable to escape. Eventually, they all start to die off, leaving the player with some great loot inside the contraption with barely any risk and weapon durability waste.

Despite the fact that Tears of the Kingdom was released in May 2023, its community is still very active and continues to come up with fun ideas for other gamers to try out. It’s unknown how Nintendo will continue to top these versatile tools in upcoming games, but it surprised many fans with the Echo ability in Echoes of Wisdom – another tool that promotes creative thinking to solve puzzles.
