Last night, on Christmas Eve no less, he assured fans that he was “working on an emergency patch ASAP” to address the issue. Lo and behold, on a crisp Yuletide morning, the patch was deployed.
According to players over on the subreddit, the patch is working beautifully and the crashing has stopped. “Seems to be fixed now, merrry Xmas and thanks CA”, wrote one such fan. “I just checked and Xbox updated to .42 and preserves jars didn’t crash”, another added. “Nice, Christmas morning and the patch fixed the crashing. Merry Christmas!” said another.

It’s hardly surprising given how much ConcernedApe clearly cares for the game, even admitting that he struggles with “closing the book” and moving on. Right now, he has another game in development — Haunted Chocolatier. But he said that he feels “responsible” for every aspect of Stardew Valley, so he doesn’t “want to just do nothing”.
Nonetheless, “a ton of work” has been done on Haunted Chocolatier, so it hasn’t been left to the wayside despite all the work also being done on Stardew Valley.
