The Braided Bangs and Buns hairstyle can now only be accessed in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, but this player’s dedication to recreating its signature look is turning a lot of heads.

A mobile game version of the cozy life sim games popularized by Nintendo on its consoles since the days of the GameCube, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was launched in 2017, letting players interact with their animal friends in new ways. The live-service game ran for just one week over the seven-year mark before being discontinued on November 28, 2024. However, Nintendo has offered fans relief, filling the void left by Pocket Camp‘s deactivation with the release of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, a new, paid version of the game containing almost every item released during the original game’s run.

While Pocket Camp Complete offers players a variety of hairstyles and colors to choose from at the start, there are plenty of additional styles that can be unlocked. One of these styles, Braided Bangs and Buns, has been lovingly coiffed on the head of Reddit user coco_cubes, who recently shared their attempt at recreating the hairstyle to a big positive reaction. Featuring a center part, buns on each sides of the head, and a braided front that swoops off to one side, the only thing that seems to separate the player’s hair from their in-game character’s is the latter’s rosy pink coloration.

For those players wanting to recapture this hairstyle in-game, they can find it in the premium folder of the crafting menu catalog. However, since it was originally introduced to Pocket Camp as a seasonal item from the Styled-Up Wig Collection event, players won’t be able to use Animal Crossing Pocket: Camp Complete Leaf Tokens to purchase it, and they’ll instead have to spend Complete Tickets to access it.

The Animal Crossing fan base keeps finding ways to bring elements of the cozy life sim series into the real world.
