Minecraft Fan Shows How Many Earth Variants The Game Could Still Add

Summary

  • Redditor showcases unique Minecraft Earth mobs not in the regular game like moonbloom sheep and furnace golem.
  • Despite Minecraft Earth’s shutdown in 2021, players still remember and appreciate the diverse and creative mob designs.

A player has shown all Minecraft Earth variants that could be added to Minecraft. Today, gamers know Minecraft as the big hit launched in 2011, but over time, Mojang’s sandbox has gained spin-offs providing a new experience in the popular blocky world.

Among these spin-offs is Minecraft Earth, a game launched in 2019 with the plan of competing with Pokemon GO. Unlike the regular version of the game which is available for PC and consoles, the game from Mojang and Blackbird Interactive was released for Android and iOS devices. Despite the new platform, the basis of the gameplay was the same as building and collecting materials, with the difference of doing so by traveling to real-life locations. Minecraft Earth was sadly shut down in 2021 due to COVID-19, but one of its aspects is still remembered by players, who believe it shouldn’t be forgotten.

Viral In-Game Minecraft Emulator Now Has Redstone

A Minecraft player impresses by updating their in-game emulator, and shows how they have added a working version of redstone to it.

Redditor zyrcon-int-official shared several images showing all variants of Minecraft Earth mobs that aren’t in Minecraft. The post shows variants of the pig, such as the muddy pig, which appeared in the game’s promotional material, and moonbloom and moolip, versions of the cow inspired by Minecraft‘s flowers. The player is also shown the different sheep, rabbits, and chickens in the game, such as the rainbow sheep, the desert rabbit, the fancy chicken, and the cluckshroom. The latter, it’s worth noting, follows the same idea as mooshrooms, a type of cow that exists in the game and is found in mushroom fields.

Minecraft Players Remember the Variety of Mobs in Minecraft Earth

Beyond the classic mobs, the publication shows neutral, hostile, and variants unused by Minecraft Earth. One of the most eye-catching designs is the furnace golem, which, instead of being made of iron blocks, has a blast furnace for the body. Unlike the wolves, the mobile game had a version of the mob whose body was just a skeleton. The unused variants show rather unusual designs, such as the zombie rabbit, the dyed cat, and the reverse chicken jockey, a fun variation on one of Minecraft‘s rarest mobs.

In the comments section, players pointed out a few things, such as the aesthetic variety of the chickens, and pointed out the skeleton spider and the moolip as mobs they would like to see in Minecraft. Mojang has no intention of introducing these mobs, though over the years, the sandbox has introduced a variety of creatures. This year, in particular, variants of Minecraft‘s wolves were introduced, while last year saw the debut of the armadillo, winner of Mob Vote 2023.
