DC and Warner Bros. have finally released the first official trailer for Superman. However, one fan edited the original video and the final result was a reminiscent of the hit TV series, Smallville.

James Gunn’s Superman movie is less than seven months away. The first trailer received millions of views, showing how excited fans are about its release. The trailer is the most-watched video on DC’s YouTube page, with over 41 million views as of this writing. However, one fan gave the teaser another take by slightly editing it and the output was mind-blowing. It takes the audience to another timeline, back to the early 2000s when Smallville was a hit.

It shows clips of the cast members with their names, apparently introducing them. The addition of Remy Zero’s Save Me, which is Smallville’s theme song, sealed the deal. Superman fans who watched Smallville and watched the edited trailer approved of it. Many said it was well done and somehow brought them back to their childhood. Smallville is a TV series that serves as a reimagining of Superman’s origin. It aired from 2001 to 2011. It was a massive hit that it ran for 10 seasons. It also highlighted Clark and Lex’s friendship before it turned into a rivalry, with their story becoming the series’ cornerstone. Smallville was a huge success and inspired the resurgence of superhero content on TV. It paved the way for DC to produce the Arrowverse — Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, Vixen, Black Lightning and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

The edited Superman trailer was perfectly done and it was nostalgic.
