When Strinova was first officially launched, it already had a decent pool of 17 characters for everyone to use. However, not long after release, the developers surprised everyone with another new character in the form of Galatea. Her beautiful design already had the community head-over-heels for her.

Apart from that, she’s also one of the most fun characters to play once you unlock her. Thankfully, you can use Galatea on both attack and defense, and she can provide a ton of value on both sides.
Galatea Abilities, Explained
Much like every other character, Galatea also has three abilities in her kit including her skill, passive, and ultimate. However, all three of her abilities are closely linked:
Wild Card |
Galatea will throw a card in an arc-shaped projectile. When this card hits a wall or the floor, it’ll create her mirror image at the spot, which you can teleport to. |
---|---|
Deception |
Whenever you unstick from a wall, you leave a wall decoy behind. Your decoys can reveal the enemy locations that come in its line of sight and also expose enemies that hit them. |
Mirage |
Once ready, this skill can throw three cards in a triangular pattern, with the middle one going at the location where you’re aiming. Galatea can freely teleport to all the decoys formed by these cards. |
Best Galatea Loadout
If you’ve been playing Strinova for a little while, you likely already know just how important a character’s loadout can be. With the right secondary weapon and tactical times, you can significantly increase the superstring’s power. For Galatea, the best secondary weapon to use is the Athena pistol.
This will help you get some shots in on a faraway enemy and also defeat them if they’re on low health with no bullets in your primary weapon. As for tactical items, you can have a specific playstyle on her if you use both smoke bomb and flashbang. This starts with you smoking off the location where you’re throwing the decoy.
You can also use the smoke to block different paths of an area, but it’s best used in the way mentioned above for Galatea.
Once your decoy is smoked, you can teleport to it and then flashbang out of it. This will help you easily defeat the enemies nearby, even if they’re expecting you. Galatea’s Snap awaken ability is better overall but you’d want to activate the Castling one if you’re planning to use this playstyle since you can get a pick and then teleport back.
On the other hand, Snap makes the overall gameplay a lot easier with this character since you can simply teleport behind an enemy and have a good three seconds to position yourself. Apart from these, here are some important upgrades for her:
- Base damage on firing
- Cooldown reduction on Wild Card
- Decoy duration on Deception
- Spread control on accuracy
- Reload speed on capacity
Tips To Play Galatea
Other than using the right loadout and understanding her abilities, Galatea is one of the few characters that can be significantly hard to master. However, these tips will make it a bit easier:
- You have to aim Galatea’s skill and ultimate properly. The actual hitbox of the projectile is as big as her body, which leads to situations where it’d get stuck at places where the projectile path didn’t show.
- While you’re defending, you can use Galatea’s skill to get information on the enemy, especially once you reduce its cooldown. If you don’t spot any enemies with it, you can simply teleport to it and flank them.
- Even though you’re completely invisible for three seconds after teleportation with her second awaken ability, the enemies can still hear your footsteps and know roughly where you are.
