With Marvel Rivals having been out for a while now, it continues to grow in popularity, attracting a higher player base thanks to its thrilling 6v6 matches and a roster of 33 heroes, each with unique playstyles. This diversity not only keeps the gameplay fresh but also extends the game’s lifespan and we’re glad to see this.
Like many multiplayer games with clan or guild systems where players can join, connect, and play together, Marvel Rivals offers a similar feature called Factions. Here’s everything you need to know about Factions, including how to leave one if needed.
What Is A Faction
A Faction in Marvel Rivals is essentially a community or guild consisting of up to 12 players who can regularly play together. However, in this game, there’s an additional incentive for joining a Faction beyond camaraderie.
Before we get into that, though, here’s how to join or create a Faction. Simply go to the Tournaments menu and select the Faction tab. From here, you’ll have two options:
- View Factions: in order to look up existing Factions to join
- Create Faction: in case you want to start your own.
If you’re looking to join an existing Faction, note that some are open for anyone to join, while others require an application process and are more selective.
The reason why Factions are a big deal in Marvel Rivals is because they can compete in tournaments to win real-life prizes or money, which is currently the primary motivation for many players to join one.
Additionally, being in a Faction helps you find teammates for competitive play and ranking up, making it a practical option for players looking to take their gameplay to the next level.
Before joining, consider your platform, server, and preferred role to ensure compatibility with the Faction’s focus and playstyle.
How To Leave A Faction
If you’re one of those players who joined a random faction and now want to leave – whether because it’s inactive, you want to create your own, or for any other reason – it might not be obvious how to do so, as the game doesn’t explain the process. However, it’s actually simple and easy.
Just head to the Tournaments menu and click on the Faction tab. Here, you’ll see the faction you’re currently in. Locate your name in the list of players, click on it, and a menu will appear with an option to “Leave Faction.”
Click that, and you’ll be removed from your current faction.
