Final Fantasy 14 Announces The Heavensturn Event To Ring In 2025

Final Fantasy 14 Announces The Heavensturn Event To Ring In 2025

Summary

  • Heavensturn returns to Final Fantasy 14 starting on December 31 and runs until January 16.
  • The annual event is based on the real-world Lunar New Year, with the 2025 edition of Heavensturn observing the Year of the Snake.
  • The rewards that players can get are housing items and a minion called the Great White Tsuchinoko.

Amid the 2024 holiday season, Final Fantasy 14 pulled back the curtain on its annual Heavensturn event, which will be themed around the upcoming Year of the Snake. Final Fantasy 14 players can participate in the Heavensturn festivities starting on New Year’s Eve and through mid-January, and earn new cosmetic rewards for their collections.

Held yearly throughout Eorzea, Heavensturn is the Final Fantasy 14 equivalent of the real-world Lunar New Year festivities, with different animal mascots to match. In the 2024 edition of Heavensturn, held to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, Final Fantasy 14 players were granted a chocobo chick minion that came with decorations inspired by Seiryu, one of the Four Lords of Far Eastern legends, and a trial boss in the Stormblood expansion. Compared to other story-driven quests in Final Fantasy 14, the Heavensturn event quests are usually comical and lighthearted, and only take a few minutes to complete from start to finish.

Alongside the launch of the Dawntrail expansion, 2024 was a year of significant and plentiful changes in popular MMO Final Fantasy 14.

As the 2024 Starlight Celebration winds down in Final Fantasy 14, Square Enix will give players another quest to ring in the new year. According to Square Enix, the 2025 Heavensturn event in Final Fantasy 14 will begin on Tuesday, December 31, at 10:00 AM Eastern and conclude on Thursday, January 16, at 9:59 AM Eastern. Ergo, Final Fantasy 14 players will have just over two weeks to participate in the Heavensturn event. Once December 31 arrives, a new quest will be available for players at level 15 and up in the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa. Players can speak to an au ra NPC called the Hebi Bugyo, to begin the quest “Heavensssturn Trivia,” and kick off Eorzea’s Year of the Snake celebrations. Due to the low-level requirement, Final Fantasy 14 Free Trial players will be able to accept the new Heavensturn quest while the event is active.

Final Fantasy 14 Heavensturn Returns for 2025

The Heavensturn rewards that players can earn from completing the limited-time quest are two housing items called the Oriental New Year’s Meal and the Springtide Fan Stand, plus a new minion called the Great White Tsuchinoko. This serpentine, mochi-covered minion is based on the Great Serpent of Ronka, one of the most popular minions in Final Fantasy 14. Rewards from past Heavensturn events will also be discounted on the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store starting December 31.

Although Square Enix launched both Dawntrail and conducted a major graphical update in 2024, 2025 will be a busy year for Final Fantasy 14 as well. It remains to be seen what Square Enix has in store for players throughout the Year of the Snake.
