Yet, if you’re mainly sticking to the main quest line, you may get to a point where you don’t have enough power to progress further. So, it’s smart to go out of your way at times to boost your power. The first step to doing that is knowing the ways you can get power and then learning which is the fastest way to build it up. All of that information is here.
Ways To Get Power
There are various ways to boost your power in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Here they are:
Method |
Notes |
---|---|
Complete Side Quests |
When you finish a side quest, you will typically receive power, but this isn’t the case with every side quest. The quests revolving around capturing strongholds and keeps tend to be particularly fruitful in regard to power. |
Close Fade Rifts |
There are side quests for closing groups of fade rifts, but you don’t just get power for finishing those quests. You actually get power for each rift you close. |
Claim Camps |
While exploring locations, you will sometimes come across possible campsites. Claiming them on behalf of the Inquisition not only gains you a fast travel point and resting place, but it also increases your power. |
Kill High Dragons |
High dragons are dangerous boss enemies that you can find while exploring. Each one you kill grants you some power. |
Fulfill Requisition Requests |
There are requisition officers at your various camps. Speak to them to find out what they need. Each of them requests a specific item that you must craft. So, find the right materials and then go to the requisition table at any of the camps to make the item. Once you do, your power increases. Skyhold upgrades are also considered Requisitions. |
Recruit Agents |
On your travels, you can meet various people who could become agents of the Inquisition. The issue is that you can’t tell that they’re potential agents until you’ve talked with them and done a task for them. Then, you may get a dialogue option asking them to join. If they do, you gain some power. |
Buy Power |
You can actually buy power if you complete the Power For A Price operation from the War Table. It becomes available after the In Your Heart Shall Burn main quest. Once you complete the operation, Farris The Representative will appear in the Skyhold courtyard. You can buy power from them. |
Fastest Way To Gain Power
Unfortunately, there isn’t an incredibly quick to increase your power in the game. Of course, buying power gives you an instant boost. However, getting a lot of power that way is pricey, so you will likely need to farm money first, which could take a while.
Therefore, the quickest way for anyone who doesn’t have a lot of coins to gain power is by closing rifts and fulfilling requisition requests.
Most of the main locations in the game contain several rifts for you to close, so you should go seek them out. Also, make sure to keep talking to the requisition officers so you’ve got more requests to fulfill. It’s also wise to keep many of the materials you pick up during your adventure, as you never know when they’ll be needed for a future request.
