Summary
- Elden Ring fans have been talking about the enemies they think aren’t worth fighting, whether it be due to difficulty or lack of meaningful rewards.
- Caelid is mentioned quite a lot (unsurprisingly), as many reckon the birds and dogs in the area are just worth staying away from entirely.
- Lobsters, Abductors, Runebears, and little balls of slime are also mentioned, though I know which of those I’d rather take in a fight.
Elden Ring has a bunch of creepy crawlies that are itching to make a meal out of you, though some are a little more terrifying than others. Sure, those massive Wormface monsters are gross, but they’re not that much of a threat when you get them on their own.
Elden Ring has plenty of massive threats that are tough to take down, but they usually drop a cool piece of armor or more runes than you can count, as a way of patting you on the back and telling you that you did a good job. Then there are the tough enemies, whose killing feels like a gigantic waste of time, and that’s the type of enemy we’re going to focus on today.
Elden Ring Fans Share The Enemies They Never Bother To Kill
A Reddit user called Born-Reflection-5180 recently asked the Elden Ring subreddit which enemies in the game they’ve killed less than the heads on wheels that shoot fire at you, giving fellow fans an opportunity to share the enemies that they never bother to kill, whether because the difficulty is too high or the rewards simply aren’t enough.
There are two enemies that stand out in the replies, as a user called FellowDsLover2 mentions the bird-type enemies that are peppered around Caelid, just waiting on high to ruin your day. FellowDsLover2 even claims that they never fought them, though they always “learned again why I never bothered” when actually trying to fight them.

The Caelid birds and dogs are mentioned a few more times throughout the replies, though another enemy not included in Caelid mentioned quite a lot are the lobsters you can find in various areas, mostly in Liurnia. A user called Deus85 claims they find the birds and dogs in Caelid quite easy to deal with, but “mostly avoided lobsters”.
A lot of other horrible monsters are mentioned, such as the dreaded Runebear, the terrifying Abductor Virgins, and gross little balls of slime that fall from the ceiling. Granted, one of those is easier to deal with than the others, but why on Earth would you go out of your way to kill slime with ridiculous defense just for ten runes? Here’s hoping they aren’t in Elden Ring: Nightreign.
With worldbuilding from Game of Thrones scribe George R.R. Martin and developed by FromSoftware, Elden Ring is a masterpiece in what has become known as the ‘Soulslike’ genre of action role-playing games.
